Xing Chen et al report the long-term damage by 16 Utah arrays in the visual cortex of monkeys, glued together as one plate. We observe substantial cortical damage. Other electrode types will be needed (e.g. highly flexible ones) for a visual prosthesis.

Many of us pay small $ per month for some services, e.g. netflix. Did you know you can do that with science funding?
Taxes fund $10/month on NIH per person. By donating just $10 per month we could *double* science funding.
