institutional stress is very real now folks Hold On to your britches

The most dangerous possibility isn't that stock markets are falling. It's that government bonds, bank funding and leveraged positions begin destabilising one another. That would turn an international market correction into a systemic financial event.

The IMF's October 2026 Fiscal Monitor puts global public debt at approximately 94% of world GDP in 2025 and projects it will reach 100% by 2029

The trigger of a global crisis may no longer come from the banking system itself It could now easily originate in energy or physical supply chains, with the financial system becoming the amplifier

France is now displaying clear signs of sovereign debt market stress, not just economic weakness

The next 3 9 months are a critical window As of today, I would treat November 2026 through July 2027 as the period of greatest concern for a serious financial rupture The dam is breaking

The House of Commons Library confirms British food prices increased 38.6% in just five years, between November 2020 and November 2025. The ONS real regular pay series shows average inflation adjusted weekly earnings rising from £460 in 2016 to £493 in 2025 An increase of just 7.2% across the same period. And you wonder while you feel Skint 🤷🏼‍♂️

The IMF reported in September 2025 that global debt exceeded 235% of world GDP, including public debt approaching 93% of GDP Have a little sit down with a cup of coffee and a biscuit and just put that into perspective for a while…..

An asset doesn't have to become objectively safer to attract capital. It only has to become relatively more attractive than the alternatives investors are abandoning

During a systemic financial collapse, liquidity could migrate into the cryptocurrency market as an entire asset class When confidence in banks, sovereign debt, equities and fiat currencies deteriorates sufficiently, investors may stop viewing crypto primarily as a speculative risk asset and begin viewing it as the alternative financial system Is this the plan 🤔

What happens when the financial system itself becomes the risk, rather than the assets traded within it? Perhaps inversion of traditional safe haven behaviour is shown during a systemic financial collapse. Holding cash might feel more dangerous than holding assets traditionally labelled risky. That could create demand for gold, crypto, real estate, commodities and other assets perceived to exist outside the weakening currency system. 🤔

This is just not true. As soon as I became foreign secretary I asked the security services the same question and they replied that there was no evidence of any successful interference in the 2016 referendum, by Russia or any other power. Either the security services have changed their view - which would be very odd - or Burnham is lying about what he has been told. After all Starmer was in power for two years and had access to exactly the same information. theguardian.com/technology/2…
