Who's ready for a truth nuke? There are only SEVEN positive EV characters in Melee:
Fox, Peach, Captain Falcon, Jigglypuff, Yoshi, Sheik, & Icies
You are losing at the Character Select Screen.
Data comes from 200k Melee tournament sets. More here (luckystats.gg/insights) 🧵👇

What an incredible achievement. We've got over 20% of the active player base on Lucky Stats.
There is so much more to do.
When we show people the features, they are shocked. Thank you all for supporting and getting the word out.

Yea, we are quite open that we use LLM tools to speed up our development workflow.
Our main developer has over 10 years of software engineering experience at top tech companies and has been writing code and making Melee tools for years.
The important thing to note is that not a single feature on the website did not come from us or a suggestion from the community. We care a LOT about user experience, robustness, stability, & security and have poured over a thousand of hours and thousands of $$$ into Lucky Stats in the 14 months since launch.
It is an entirely different paradigm from generative use cases and vibecoding. Vibecoding is when you launch a poorly tested, insecure, and buggy product and expect an audience to give a shit about it. And they usually die within a few weeks.
Lucky Stats has evolved into an impressively complex and mature architecural platform. We have dozens of backend AWS EC2 workers, multiple GPUs, automated alerting and error detection, and a super robust testing pipeline.
We are Melee community members since 2014, and I think we've done a good job at showing that to people and have built a novel product that continues getting new, valuable features every week.
On the UI, though, ya we aren't the best at UI LOL. It is what it is and we can't afford a designer. C'est la vie.
Lucky Stats simply wouldn't exist with the ability to speed up the development workflow as significantly as we can in 2026, we all have full-time jobs. It is not a vibecoded product.
