Did you know we produce children's books to help families cope with bereavement following a road crash?
Funding from @TheRSTrust has enabled us to keep printing these books for the rest of this year. Read more about it here: brake.org.uk/how-we-help/rai…

Seems that most (some?) have gone quiet on advocating for what they signed up for!
Please restate your commitment for these vital 4 ‘asks’ as @transportgovuk @Heidi_Labour @LilianGreenwood need to hear your advice.
Secretive, private advice is valuable - but so is honest transparency of what is need to #StopRoadDeath

A bit of deja vu? From 2009.
Transport Committee recommended #GDL and @GordonBrown Gvt refused …
A Labour MP said:
“I am disappointed … by the Gvt response to the problem of novice drivers … I am worried about novice drivers going out late at night … without having had any experience of driving in the dark … the car comes off the road, hits a tree and young lives are destroyed … Gvt copped out over the question of a curfew … I hope the Gvt will look at that matter again.”
Passenger restrictions were also recommended and refused.
I wonder how many people might be alive today if politicians acted on the advice from experts through the @TransportCttee @RuthCadbury and were brave?

In the UK young drivers aged 17–24 are involved in 24% of all collisions resulting in death or serious injury, even though this group makes up just 7% of the total driving population.
Graduated Driving Licensing saves lives. Please support our campaign for its introduction.
Good job! Great to see our results being disseminated

We should not accept road death in Britain, but we do. Please stand in this guy’s shoes who is asked what an acceptable number of road deaths is, and ask yourself the same question.

Worldwide we are likely to exceed 30 million road deaths in the 1st quarter of the twenty first century. Today is World Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims. A day to recall those lost, the grief caused to so many families, & the need to act to save lives. #WDoR2024.
