Linebackers: You don’t need to be freak athletes. You just need to be CONSISTENT athletes. Same stance. Same steps. Same finish. Every single play.

Linebacker isn’t like any other position. On any given play you could be: Covering a fast Receiver. Taking on a huge Offensive Lineman. Meeting the Running Back in the B Gap. It’s the most dynamic position in all of sports.

I love seeing a Linebacker make a big, explosive play. It can swing the momentum of a game. But the real key to success is CONSISTENCY. Clean steps. Proper angles. Accurate hand position. Small habits lead to big plays.

How to play Linebacker: Good stance. READ the play. Move efficiently. Destroy/avoid blockers. Finish with a violent tackle. Repeat.

Maybe it’s just me, but I automatically think people have a strong misconception about the levels of college football when they refer JUCO as a lower level than D3. JUCO is its own monster and the whole nonchalant “I’ll just go JUCO” thought process is a quick way to for some to have a rude awakening. There’s legitimate NFL talent on some of those rosters. JUCO isn’t a joke. If you’re going to go, you better be about that life.
