On a more positive note…we witnessed two boxers on the weekend at the very height of their powers.
Shock is on a run of results that have catapulted him into P4P contentions and Dalton Smith is arguably the best British fighter we currently have…
Fought through a diverse decision in a close fight that could have swung either way.

Wasn’t an exciting fight like Dan says but it was tactical, full of sound technical boxing and close so was still riveting viewing for me even if it wasn’t a war.
Quite interesting to see the reaction to #SmithPuello
🇬🇧 Media including @bigdaddybunce & @richiewoodhall full of praise for a tactical chess match full of skill
🇺🇸 Media including @DanRafael1 the complete opposite & full of criticism
What did you make of the fight❓

United through n through not one player will have stopped after that game for the fans!

This is one of the best things I’ve seen from any fan base in a very long time.
For too long players have got away with downing tools to get a manager sacked, it’s quality to see United fans backing Carrick over the players! 👏
Emotional exit by Michael Carrick as fans sing his name. A farewell?
Supporters turn on players once Carrick down tunnel.

All these guys turning down fights for legit money remember you never get it back and you never get younger. You sit idle and the world moves on. #boxing
Not sure on that Visioli performance
On one hand he’s cruised to a 10 round decision, on the other he’s been a bit bland when he clearly had the option to go through gears, needs to capture the imagination a little
Liked Darren Barker calling out Sunnys ‘safety first’ bs 💩

Sorry, am I listening to Giorgio Visioli’s ACTUAL MANAGER commentating on his fight right now on @DAZNBoxing? Hahahahaha. Amazing is he, aye? Gifted? Special? Hits hard? So sharp? Get a fucking grip of yourselves, man. #boxing #SmithPuello
Dalton Smith is the stand out candidate if, & it’s a big ‘if’, he stop Alberto Puello tonight #SmithPuello

Dalton Smith facing a PROPER mandatory. No ducking. No vacating, Straight in. Love it.
Hope he’s the first guy to stop Puello

So much I can say but I’ll leave it at this. Whether I had an opponent or not this guy agreed and tweeted I get a voluntary defence before the end of the year then fight yo-yo next year which I was happy to do so the question everyone needs to ask is what changed.
🚨WBO President Gustavo Olivieri on why he rejected Denzel Bentley's request to delay his mandatory obligations against Yoenli Hernandez (@TRUSCHOOLSPORTS)
"We never received a formal petition. From Zuffa, from team Bentley, or from team Mosley for this particular fight. When a champion makes a defence, regardless of whether it's a mandatory or a voluntary, it's got to have the approval of the championship committee"
"Bentley had no fight date. No opponent. No venue. The mandatory was overdue. Hernandez was already the designated challenger since July. Team Hernandez filed a petition asking to enforce the mandatory"
