Sources: @UIBaseball is hiring Casey Day as its new pitching coach, I'm told. Day spent time in the @Orioles system before most recently being a pitching coordinator in the @tigers organization. He replaces Wes Obermueller as the #Hawkeyes PC. #B1G

An MLB player tosses a ball to a kid wearing his jersey.
The kid makes the catch… then hands it to his little sister and gives her a hug. How can you not love baseball

We’re glad you do too.
Also, no announcer likes recaps. Thanks, Dan.

Using this tweet as inspiration, I wanted to see how the ASMI Return to Throwing Program holds up when modeled for workload demands. Here’s what the simulation shows about progression and acute:chronic ratios.

Embarrassing programming for a rehab throwing program for a high level pitcher. Just embarrassing. Long toss capped at 120’ (paging @jaegersports), timed throwing, 55 pitch (55!) bullpens.
Why are we allowing this as an industry just because it’s the way it’s been done?
