This is the #BathMat, an inflatable cushion designed to help healthcare staff reposition critically ill patients. Created by @bathenganddes researchers alongside @RUHBath clinicians, it's entering clinical trials this year. bath.ac.uk/announcements/inf…
Fantastic visit to ISOLDE @CERN as part of the kick off meeting for Gerard's PhD. We've got an exciting new project started on developing carbon nanotubes for wire scanner applications!
Our work on kink-band formation in carbon fibre composites has just been published in Composites Part B: sciencedirect.com/science/ar…
Well done to all involved!
Woke up to find our paper has been accepted in Carbon! This is on recent work @DiamondLightSou & is titled: Synchrotron X-ray diffraction and radiography - lattice strain characterization in thin-walled carbon fibre channel structures subjected to buckling. Well done @P_Czapski!
Picture of me and my PhD student Sophie at the doctoral recognition awards - well done for all your hard work Sophie!

Beamtime on DIAD @DiamondLightSou. Exploiting the dual imaging and diffraction to enhance our understanding of porosity in carbon fibre composites. Detector angle at our request... we always like to push the capabilities of the system :)
Beamtime on B16 @DiamondLightSou. We've asked for a v complicated setup and the beamline scientists have done incredible job as usual! This work is focused on the cryogenics of composites; cruical insights required for future H2 powered aircraft. @bathenganddes @Bath_IAAPS – at Harwell Campus, England
Great to attend my first Diamond User Committee today. If you have any comments or queries on imaging and microscopy, please get in touch! @DiamondLightSou – at Harwell Campus, England
Beamtime on I12 @DiamondLightSou. Investigating the influence of coatings during impact of cement. Excellent results so far! Thanks to all the beamline scientists for all their help! @fluidofinto @bathenganddes – at Harwell Campus, England
Really enjoyed my visit to @uniud. Been great to give a lecture course on characterisation of materials using non destructive testing! Thanks, to @SIMEDlab for the invite! – at Udine, Friuli-Venezia Giulia
Exciting times at the Low Density Materials for Beam Instrumentation Workshop @CERN. Presentations from across the group were brilliant. Looking forward to future fruitful collaborations on 1D and 2D Materials!
Some new blog posts from our EIP students @RollsRoyce - they are having a brilliant time and making a significant contribution. Well done all!
