Genocide was very common throughout human history. So why did Germany ever have to pay reparations to Jewish victims of the Holocaust? Why should Germany be held accountable for something that had been practiced by so many civilizations before it?
After all, at the beginning of that same 20th century, Germany had already committed genocide against the Herero and Nama peoples in Namibia decades before the Holocaust. Massacres, ethnic persecution, enslavement and extermination were hardly new inventions of the Nazis. So why single out Germany? Why demand accountability for something that was common at the time?
War was equally common in the 19th and 20th centuries. So why was Germany and Japan forced to pay reparations after the World War? Why should any country compensate another for the consequences of war when human beings have been fighting wars since the beginning of civilization?
Does this reasoning sound intellectually bankrupt to you? Good.
Because this is precisely the reasoning we are subjected to whenever we raise the issue reparations for the transatlantic slave trade. Suddenly, we are reminded that slavery was common at the time, that Europeans were not the only people who practiced it.
Can anyone name another system of enslavement besides the transatlantic slave trade that forcibly uprooted millions of people, transported them across oceans and left generations of their descendants permanently displaced from their ancestral homelands? If so, let us demand reparations for its victims too!
For centuries, European nations codified slavery into their laws, protected it through state institutions and made human beings legally recognized property. France’s infamous Code Noir, introduced in 1685, legally classified enslaved Africans as movable property, made slavery hereditary and authorized brutal punishments, including mutilation.
It was only in 2026 ( yes this very year) that France’s Parliament voted to formally repeal this legislation.
We are talking about state-sponsored crimes, written into law and enforced for centuries. Why should the states responsible be exempt from accountability?
If your argument against reparations is that everybody was doing it, then you are not offering a historical defense. You are simply suggesting that atrocities should become exempt from accountability once enough people have participated in them.

It feels as though Gaza has fallen into a black hole.
TV channels have abandoned it because it no longer brings in views.
Reconstruction and rubble removal are at a complete standstill.
Hospitals are barely functioning.
The healthcare system has almost completely collapsed.
The education system has almost completely collapsed.
The prices of basic goods are extremely high.
The crossings remain closed.
People are killed and wounded every day.
Bring Gaza and its people back into focus.

Israel has turned Gaza into a city unfit for human life in every sense of the word! It has destroyed everything that once brought life to this place. It has destroyed hospitals, schools, universities, homes, streets, and the entire infrastructure, reducing it all to rubble.
The catastrophe has not been limited to destruction and killing. These ruins and mountains of rubble have created a devastated environment, leading to the spread of diseases and viruses unlike anything we have ever witnessed before.
Israel bombarded us with tons of explosives and used nuclear bombs, white phosphorus, and all kinds of lethal weapons. It left no modern weapon unused against us, as though it were turning our bodies and our land into an open testing ground for its weapons.
We are living through catastrophic conditions beyond words, while Israel continues to commit the most horrific, brutal, and despicable acts of genocide, simply through different methods and means.
Israel has destroyed every foundation of life in Gaza, and even what little life remains is now threatened by death, disease, and starvation.
Families are facing catastrophic and life-threatening conditions unlike anything we have ever witnessed before!
Diseases and viruses are spreading at an alarming and extremely rapid rate, affecting the vast majority of families here. These viruses spare no one. They do not distinguish between men, women, children, or even the elderly. They are ravaging everyone's bodies without mercy!
The symptoms include severe shortness of breath, intense chest pain, high fever, severe coughing that tears through the chest, abnormal oxygen levels in the blood, and dangerously rapid heartbeats.
These illnesses are leaving people bedridden, completely unable to move. Even making an effort to stand up or walk just a few steps can cause severe breathing difficulties, leaving them gasping for air and struggling to breathe!
With even the most basic necessities of life unavailable and medicines and treatments nowhere to be found, patients' lives are now in real danger, particularly those already suffering from chronic and serious illnesses. They face an even greater risk, one that could cost them their lives at any moment!
Unfortunately, my family has not been spared from this catastrophe. I have now contracted this virus, and so has every single member of my family. We are all suffering. We can barely breathe, and we are struggling just to catch our breath!
Please, pray for me, my family, and all the families in Gaza. We are living through life-threatening conditions beyond words, facing a terrifying health and humanitarian catastrophe unlike anything we have ever experienced before.

This is what happens when historical ignorance is accompanied by an astonishing degree of intellectual arrogance.
First, there were no “West African countries” during the transatlantic slave trade. The region comprised kingdoms, empires, city-states and independent societies. Applying modern national identities to centuries-old history is an extraordinary display of ignorance.
Second, Europeans did not arrive in Africa as benevolent abolitionists. For centuries, they financed, institutionalised and industrialised human trafficking, supplying weapons that fuelled wars and slave raids, creating an enormous market for human captives, and codifying racial slavery into their laws. African collaborators existed, but their complicity does not absolve the European empires that sustained this monstrous commerce.
Entire African communities were devastated, populations displaced, villages destroyed and societies destabilised. Millions were deported across the Atlantic, while countless others suffered captivity, violence and death on African soil. Africa was itself a vast crime scene, not merely the departure point of enslaved people.
And perhaps the most remarkable historical fraud is how European nations have managed to present themselves as the liberators of the very people they spent centuries enslaving.
I grew up in a former French colony in Africa being taught from primary school that slavery was abolished by a Frenchman named Victor Schœlcher. It was only in 2026 ( yes this year ) that I discovered that people in former British colonies had been taught a remarkably similar story, except that their white saviour was an Englishman named William Wilberforce.
Yet long before Britain abolished slavery in its colonies in 1833, enslaved Africans in Haiti had fought a revolution, defeated European armies and proclaimed their independence in 1804. Toussaint Louverture and Jean-Jacques Dessalines were central to that struggle.
In 1816, Haitian President Alexandre Pétion supplied Simón Bolívar with weapons, ammunition and military assistance to support South America’s liberation struggles, on the condition that he advance the emancipation of enslaved people. And he went on to free more than half a dozen Latin American countries.
And what was Haiti’s reward for daring to liberate itself? Diplomatic isolation and, in 1825, a crushing indemnity of 150 million francs imposed by France, effectively forcing formerly enslaved people to compensate the descendants of their enslavers for the loss of their supposed property.
Meanwhile, Britain compensated slave owners with £20 million following abolition, while the enslaved received nothing.
Where are these stories in the European narratives of abolition? Where are Nat Turner, who led an enslaved uprising in Virginia in 1831, Queen Nzinga, who resisted Portuguese expansion and slave raiding in Central Africa, or the countless African rulers, communities and freedom fighters who resisted enslavement?
Black people fought for their freedom. They rebelled, resisted, organised, sacrificed and died for it. Their liberation was never simply a gift bestowed upon them by benevolent Europeans.
There is something profoundly tragic about descendants of enslaved Africans, born and educated in the lands of their ancestors’ enslavers, regurgitating sanitised colonial history, seemingly incapable of distinguishing historical scholarship from imperial propaganda.
The greatest triumph of colonial indoctrination is when the descendants of its victims become the most zealous defenders of its mythology.
What a pity!

Sorry to disturb you. You can keep scrolling now.
I’m posting this again because I think it’s absolutely necessary given the context.
Now that we’ve dropped into the mid-70Ks after ranging above 80K for weeks, we’re getting close to the end of this bull market retracement.
We’re down 13%. The biggest drops we saw last cycle were 22%, and that was during a 77% bear market. This bear market wasn’t even close to as brutal, so my main theory remains exactly the same.
The $BTC Bull market retracements will be shallower this cycle.
Given that, are you really willing to miss now (a 62% move from current prices) because you’re fixated on getting in 3–4% lower?
When you look at it simply from a RR perspective, you can clearly see that the reward outweighs the risk.
As I’ve said, I’m primarily a swing trader. My objective is to help as many people as possible catch the most rewarding moves. So far, I’ve done that throughout the entire bear cycle and the entire bull cycle.
But the targets will keep getting lower and lower, just like they did last time, until people are left on the sidelines in disbelief.
If you wanted to get in below 80K, now’s your chance. Don’t fuck it up this time, or you’ll be buying above 90K.
Take it from someone who is fully exposed with a avg of 65K when everyone else was calling for lower.
