Can someone explain to me why wind turbine blades do not have an abrasion resistant leading edge (other than allowing them to slowly erode, BY DESIGN, in order to profit from the monumental maintenance costs)???
I think that @KIA has been acing car design for the last 10 or 15 years.
In a world of tasteless, boring, generic designs, they really stand out, in my view.
It's really good to be back to F1 Twitter after spending just 10 minutes on F1 Instagram.
The knowledge delta is massive. The things that we read on Instagram are extremely frustrating.😓
I didn't know that @ScarbsTech had a TV series!!!
If that's not Scarbs, then Brendan Walker HAS to pay a very large amount for having repeatedly infringed on Craig Scarborough' IP, as per very clear regulations! There are no loopholes to be exploited here! 🧐
I won't patent it, so screw it.
Do you know those things where pilots test the G-tolerance? If it were a bit bigger, we could test a model during cornering: what it was designed to do! [1]
Behind the model, honeycomb and tiny jets of air would be needed to clean up the flow for the next pass.
The beautiful thing is that you can change the corner radius simply by moving the model on the connecting pole. [2]
It's interesting to watch birds use thermals to rapidly gain 500ft of altitude with barely any wing flapping.
Even more interesting is that they do this with a fairly low AR wing and high wing loading.
Their wingtip feathers must have A LOT to do with it.

By high wing loading, I mean it relatively speaking.
Some birds are quite heavy relative to their wetted area.
The body must contribute to a great portion of the lift generated.

What a gorgeous book! Not just its content but the book itself!
It is a Bible of a book. Absolutely majestic, from the master himself!

Replying to @ScarbsTech
@ScarbsTech Scarbs, I noticed that the monocoques still have a stepped section at the front (even on pullrod setups). Is this still a hangover from the 2014 regs to accommodate Marussia's 2013 monocoque, or are teams "stepping" the monocoque deliberately?
Many thanks.
It wasn't just Oppenheimer. Most physicists were affected by nuclear tests. Be it Sakharov from the USSR, Bethe from Germany or Agnew from the U.S.
It makes you wonder about people like Teller, who not only did not get phased by it, but actively sought higher and higher yields.

AUTO MOTOR UND SPORT - Despite the improvement in lap times compared to 2023, the current cars have reached the end of their development, Adrian Newey believes "It's in the nature of things. A ground-effect car without side-sealing skirts like in the 80s will always..."

The FIA doing anything to make this ‘entertain’ when in reality it’s a shit show and it’s a joke. They don’t care about safety, but draw the line at swearing.
Are conditions any better today than they were yesterday???
