“Sorry for the reply delay!” - predictable - disorganised - admits fault on your part “in response to your premature email,” - brazen - establishes dominance - might get fired, giving you more time to work on your series of crime novellas

So happy about our new paper in Learning and Instruction😊 We show that poverty have a negative impact on early literacy beyond cognitve and language skills. Interventions need to focus also on other aspects of these childrens lives sciencedirect.com/science/ar…

A MALAPHOR is when two metaphors are clumsily and incorrectly combined, such as 'It's as easy as riding a piece of cake' or 'We'll burn that bridge when we get to it'.

Bishop’s law: the better-designed a study is, the more likely it is to obtain a null result.
Yes we're in the middle of publishing a whole raft of null results NCTs. I'm increasingly convinced there's no alternative to long-term good quality preschool education.

Although many of us need #phdweekend to push our thesis forward, using this time for restorative fun fiction is also of value. Limit, as much as you can, what you choose to sacrifice during your phd. Life is what we have now, live it and love it. ❤
