❓Questionable❓ So I was digging into Valko's trademarks the whole day yesterday and found something weird... Apparently, an oil company called Shaanxi Decheng Oil & Gas Technology Co., Ltd. filed trademarks for BOTH VALKO and AO YIN. Now, I wouldn't be this confused if they only filed for Ao Yin. It's a nice name and all but why BOTH his English and Chinese names? And why under Class 9 and 41, which are usually used for software or games? What's even stranger is that the company is in the oil and gas industry, with records related to oilfield-related businesses. I couldn't find any reason why it would be involved in game development or entertainment. So why would a company operating in a completely different industry suddenly file trademarks for a game character's names? And why specifically choose categories that cover video game software and related digital content? They have nothing but these three trademarks. Of course, that doesn't prove anything about its intentions, but kinda makes me question it hard... Not to mention...the agency...could just be a coincidence but it's Beijing Zhongzhilian Intellectual Property Agency Co., Ltd.... This is the agency listed on Decheng's trademarks on Valko/Ao Yin by the oil company. The thing is PPG already trademarked these categories on June 22, 2026 along with 33 other trademarks. And this company did it on July 6, 2026 after his cancellation. It wouldn't make sense for PPG to trademark it twice, one under the official Papergames Co Ltd and with another shell company. Plus PPG has never used a Beijing agency before. So that rules out the reasoning for PPG using a shell company to preserve him. For the oil company, the last update was the acceptance notice being issued on July 31, 2026. There has been nothing since then. No acceptance or rejection. And no, the trademark wasn't sold to the oil company. The trademarks for Valko are in preliminary approval on August 27, which will be fully registered after a 3 months period. Unless someone tries to oppose it. If an opposition is filed, the outcome could affect registration but there has been no news of it for now. There's two theories I could come up with. Either they want to make bank from PPG or try to oppose the trademark to further STALL him. Which either is kind of stupid since PPG already filed for Ao Yin... I just find it extremely unusual that an oil company filed for both names. Not just Ao Yin but also Valko. Too much of a coincidence to pass as a nothing burger.
