JUST IN: An eight-member team of icefall doctors along with two kitchen staff, a garbage management staff, and a base camp manager, left for Mt #Everest (8848.86 m) BC from Namche Bazaar today. The team will fix and maintain the Khumbu icefall route for climbers attempting Mt Everest, Lhotse, and Nuptse in the spring 2024 climbing season. The team includes BC Manager Tshering Tenji Sherpa, icefall doctors; Ang Sarki Sherpa, Dawa Nuru Sherpa, Pemba Tshering Sherpa, Ngima Tenzi Sherpa, Nawang Chhimi Sherpa, Dawa Chhiri Sherpa, Dawa Zangbu Sherpa, and Mingma Gyalzen Sherpa) kitchen staff; Ngawang Thanten and Ongdi Gelbu Sherpa, and garbage management staff Yam Bahadur Lama, according to Sagarmatha Pollution Control Committee (SPCC). 28th April: #OTD in the #Falklands war, the UK upgrades the Maritime Exclusion Zone to a Total Exclusion Zone for all shipping and aircraft within 200 miles of the Falklands. Argentina is advised through the Swiss Embassy that any military vessels in the TEZ can be attacked.

In the meantime, though, Kilian Jornet (@kilianj) ran from Namche Bazaar to Everest Base Camp. The next morning, he went up to 6,600m (above Camp 2), then ran back to Namche.
