We can kiss the SAVE Act goodbye. Mass deportations are off the table. DOGE cuts are going nowhere. And taxpayer funding to the Taliban will continue.
At some point, we have to ask ourselves what we’re doing. We need better people representing us and better candidates willing to step up and run. Promises are nothing if we have no one who delivers.

Darth Vader. The Balrog. Bane.
Different myths, same ancient warning: push something good far enough into the abyss and eventually the abyss answers back.
We call these figures evil because we meet them at the end of the story. We forget to ask what furnace made them.
Humiliation. Betrayal. Hatred. Loss. Years of being told to kneel while someone else mistakes restraint for weakness. Eventually the wound stops bleeding and becomes armor.
That’s why these archetypes endure. They’re not merely monsters. They are consequence incarnate.
The people who created them eventually stare into that face in horror, unable to recognize their own reflection.
The renewed obsession with Anakin isn’t just an internet phenomenon. Something far older stirring. Young western men are at the breaking point.
Because there’s a limit to what good men will absorb while remaining the men you remember. Keep digging greedily into the patience, dignity, families, faith, and livelihoods of people who wanted nothing more than to be left alone, and eventually you reach something beneath the stone.
The ancient stories warned us about that too.
Be very careful what you spend years creating in the people you hate. One day, you may finally meet it.
That time is nigh.
Attention to orders
Writing this in my personal capacity, but I have been flying these types of aircraft for more than 20 years, with over 8,000 hours, and have reasonable familiarity with how the charter world operates. I feel compelled to post after seeing commentary about the Lear 60 crash, from missile strikes to DEI to critiquing this poor woman’s final radio calls.
That last part is what I find most troubling. She was the second-in-command (SIC), and while she was empowered to point out mistakes as part of good crew resource management, she was doing her job, communicating with ATC right to the end in a terrifying situation. She likely knew before many of those calls that she was going to die. I have heard final calls from friends, from military pilots with thousands of hours in fighter aircraft, and they are just as heartbreaking because they know the end is approaching.
I understand the public interest given the footage and audio. But you do not know the aircraft’s maintenance history, whether there was a structural failure, if any failure was induced by turbulence, overspeed, or overcontrol, or everything happening in that cockpit. I am sure weather will be part of the investigation, but beyond that, it is speculation. The charter industry routinely hires commercial pilots very early in their careers to gain experience alongside an ATP-qualified captain before they move up to the airlines. She would still have the appropriate training, qualifications, and checkouts by an FAA examiner or designee.
Let people investigate, learn, and share the facts. Be respectful to those who perished and the families who carry their memories. God bless them and their loved ones.

Natalie Winters' reporting is plugging a lot of holes in the Democracy Files from a different direction.
🚨 EXCLUSIVE: European Parliament money helped fund a CLOSED-DOOR meeting on resistance to Trump and MAGA ahead of America’s midterms.
The keynote speaker? A University of Georgia professor who had publicly argued that Democratic victories could “make Trump a much weaker president for the rest of his second term.”
The June 3 meeting examined where Democratic Party, activist and NGO resistance was working—and how European progressives could learn from it and strengthen transatlantic cooperation.
The agenda spells it out:
“CLOSED DOOR ROUNDTABLE.”
“financial support of the European Parliament.”
European Parliament Vice-President Katarina Barley convened it. The Foundation for European Progressive Studies and Germany’s Friedrich-Ebert-Stiftung organized it.
Professor Cas Mudde delivered the keynote, according to the organizers’ recap.
