If you know the bread and butter dysplasia and FAI features, that will help facilitate proper work up and treatments. Things like lateral center edge angle, anterior acetabular index, posterior wall signischial spine sign, fear index, retroversion, etc. Not rocket science here. Basic, bonehead x-ray stuff🤓🤫 i'm not sure why so many of these are essentially called normal still.

Almost 4 years ago, time flies, but there was a presentation @aahks about oral TXA I want to adopt - I am hugely in favor of more prolonged and widespread TXA use - let’s make it happen! #orthotwitter @CenterRotation @NaanDerthaal @jointdocShields @DrChadKrueger @HSSAnesthesia
Important study about TXA! No, I repeat, no thrombogenic markers increased with TXA administration! Antifibrinolytic properties only - this in combination of several other studies should support widespread IV TXA use in nearly all patients @DrChadKrueger #totalhip #totalknee

I just told the Health Secretary that restoring the pay of Junior Doctors is totally affordable. Restoring their pay would cost around £1 billion per year. That's less than half the cost of the giveaway handed to the super-rich through the non-dom tax avoidance scheme.

Dear @SteveBarclay, There seems to be a lot of interest on UK #MedTwitter (@RoshanaMN) in how enticing Australia is for UK docs. Here are a few examples, from a junior doctor who made the move, of the international market you're competing with. You should be worried.🧵

In response to the misleading figures used in the tweet below from @DHSCgovuk 👇 BMA Council Chair @DrPhilBanfield has today written to the Cabinet Secretary to request a formal investigation to see if it has broken civil service code.
The BMA has demanded a 35% pay rise for junior doctors. Here's their current average pay rates at different levels. digital.nhs.uk/data-and-info…

Here is what Sunak's government are offering the doctors... Yes, you are reading that correctly, an increase in their hourly rate of between 18p (year 1) to 56p (year 8).

If you're told you have #HipDysplasia with NO arthritis and the surgeon does not even mention "PAO", you should get a second opinion. Periacetabular osteotomy is a powerful operation to correct severe dysplasia. Mild dysplasia can be treated with #HipArthroscopy.

13yof. Healthy, normal weight, no trauma. Chronic history of bilateral hip pain. I am reading bilateral hip MRI. I humbly disagree with the x-ray interpretation.

Postop complications - no one really prepares the surgeon for how to personally face the guilt/emotional impact of own actions. Every surgeon has complications, sad truth. Because every surgeon is human.

Commonest reason for revision hip arthroscopy is inadequate CAM resection at the primary scope and this is due to lack of resection at the 1:15 position in 90% of cases. On table confirmation of appropriate resection with ROM testing and II is recommended. – at South West, England
