Resources to facilitate the process of external second opinions are now available. These valuable new resources are for families, healthcare professionals and service planners.
Thankful for @RCPCHtweets @PICSociety and @Tog4ShortLives collaboration in bringing this to fruition.
We've launched a new resource for healthcare professionals, service planners and families of children with complex medical needs to draw upon when requesting, providing and receiving an external second opinion (ESO).

🎗The month may be over but we continue to raise public awareness and call for an increased focus on funding scientific research, to help support children and families affected by childhood cancers;
🎗September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month Globally- A month dedicated to generating awareness, support and raising vital funds for those affected by childhood cancer. These important activities are pivotal in terms of changing the future for children with cancer.
🎗️I have seen several colleagues “Wear it Gold” in truly creative ways throughout the day:
Golden shoes, golden capes, golden glittery face paint! All looking absolutely fabulous for an incredibly good cause.
🎗Today , we mark the end of Childhood Cancer Awareness Month with “Wear it Gold Day!”
For the price of a donation to charity, I am wearing it golden to work today.

🎗At the heart of this project are the incredible children and families who graciously dedicated their time, effort, expertise and exceptional skills and talents to enabling this app to become a reality. We discovered several potential Oscar Award winning actors along the way!
This project has been a testament to the power of collaborations which place children and families firmly at the centre of all that we are doing.
We truly believe that the Oncology Guide will play a valuable role in providing support for children and their families throughout their cancer journey.
