ALT NOAA Storm Prediction Center Day 1 Categorical Outlook map issued June 2, 2026, valid through the morning of June 3. A yellow “slight risk” area for severe thunderstorms extends from eastern Wyoming across western South Dakota and into southwestern North Dakota. Surrounding dark and light green shaded areas indicate broader marginal thunderstorm risk stretching from west Texas northward through New Mexico, Colorado, Nebraska, South Dakota, and North Dakota. Additional marginal-risk areas are shown along portions of the central Gulf Coast, Florida, coastal Georgia and South Carolina, and a small area in the central Appalachians. Most of the rest of the United States is outside any severe weather risk area. The map includes a risk legend showing marginal (level 1) and slight (level 2) risk categories, NOAA/SPC branding, issuance and validity times, and forecaster attribution.

On the left, a TrueColor image shows the western Pacific with a large, tightly spiraled Super Typhoon Sinlaku east of the Philippines, while Australia and parts of Asia are visible beneath scattered clouds. On the right, a blue-tinted water vapor image highlights atmospheric moisture patterns, with the same storm appearing as dark, well-defined spiraled bands of moisture. The NOAA logo and the text "NESDIS/STAR" appear in the lower right-hand corner of the frame.
