It is a bit weird going through life knowing that if something terrible were to happen to you or to the people (including children) that you work with, a disconcerting number of people would be pleased.

One thing I've noticed as a result of being Jewish but not looking like a stereotype, is with a lot of bigotry, you often need a visible minority to catalyse its exposure. When I had Nazi salutes made at me, those children weren't saluting at their other teachers, no one else decorated their classroom for Hanukkah and came back to find their Menorasaurus smashed, so until Little Miss Jew over here rocked up, there was no visible problem - so no one knew the problem was there. Also, I'd hazard a guess that OP has seen and heard [of] instances of antisemitism, she just didn't notice they were antisemitic, either because she low-key agrees or doesn't even realise what an antisemitic microaggression would look like.

It’s important to not lose sight of what Mehdi Hasanabi, Barry Baloney, the head of the fucking NEU and Owen Buffer Zone Jones are trying to minimise here. This is a national scandal. An unacceptable situation for British children to be facing. And they’re trying to bury it.
Replying to @daverich1
For example: *every pupil* in a class at a Jewish school visited by the review had personally experienced antisemitism on their journey to or from school. That class is not exceptional. If this was about racist abuse towards black children, Jones would not try to downplay it.

If you've seen the NEU's response to the Bell Report and think that's not for you, can I recommend @edaptuk, which provides edu-legal support to teachers and school staff without the political nonsense. If you use the link below you can get up to £30 off edapt.org.uk/refer/REFA78N6X…

Today, one of my colleagues described a group of teachers smoking as them "grabbing a fag out the back". The newly-hired Canadian teacher's eyebrows damn near hit the ceiling.

Which has absolutely nothing to do with Jewish children in Britain but you're all so racist you can't see that

If you need to see how far the left has fallen into a sewer of antisemitism, just look how they react towards a report written on the antisemitism Jewish schoolchildren experience in British schools. An appalling disgrace that no other community would be expected to tolerate.

Some of the examiner feedback from Edexcel was that students are not using scientific terminology consistently or correctly. Having gone through their GCSE word banks, the same words in the same context are given multiple definitions, so frankly it's hardly surprising.

All the definitions are correct, but they aren't consistent which means - particularly weaker students - are going to find it harder to recall efficiently.

I would find it really funny if NJD get a My Chemical Romance-themed "black parade" jersey, equally if NSH get a Tailor Swift-inspired one ("tailor"-made)

Forensic analysis here from @BodilUK
I found the Children's Commissioner's Childhood Lottery a frustrating read. I have no doubt more children have difficult childhoods in Middlesbrough than Surrey. But excluding obvious confounding factors and selecting on dependent variables is not a good way to make that case.🧵
