I think I need to adjust my expectations: How many months does it take an established investigator to write a manuscript— (1) how many months to complete semi-complex analyses and (2) how many months to write it after analyses are complete??

Some journals require a “track change version” of a paper during a resubmission. Instead of sharing drafts with "track changes on" with coauthors, I use the “compare” tool in Word to accomplish this. I provide a quick tutorial below.

Nivy’s project was competitively selected for presentation at the Missouri state capitol today! Asian and Hispanic/Latinx Veterans report highest rates of insomnia (~80%) but least willingness for treatment… Help us improve access to evidence-based care! @MizzouPsych @Mizzou
Continued the tradition of scheduling a date night ~3 days after my grant was reviewed… So far all grant scores have been disappointing, and last night I didn’t even want to go — until the end of the night when I cared way less about the grant score 🙌🏼❤️💁🏻♀️

As students are receiving acceptance, waitlist, “rejection” letters for PhD programs, I’ve gotten a lot of questions about “why,” and there are a LOT of background gears at play students don’t always know about. I’ll share some and invite #AcademicChatter to add to this:
