Did Konami kill YGO by releasing dozens of undertested cards into an environment they KNEW would precipitate FTKs & engine slop during a time of global financial crisis and tons of successful YGO alternatives? ...or did Joshua Schmidt kill it by pointing that out? Who can say?

i feel like we all already knew it instinctually but it's sooooo cathartic to see that every single dogshit mobile game from 2013 was built first and foremost to extract money from you, with "gameplay" a diiiiiiiistant second priority (if considered at all!)

my biggest complaint with YGO atm is the uninspired designs. for the last half-decade “theming” has been a matter of deciding what clothes the big titty anime ladies will wear. innovate! rather than another busty bimbo, why not a hyperintelligent gorilla with a Tesla cannon?
