The Attorney General commenting on a case before her investigation starts disregards a basic legal standard even first-year law students understand. The wave of criticism is rightfully deserved.

In a rush to make a social media splash, Letitia James disqualified herself. If the Cornell case is going to be properly investigated, she needs to step away.   This isn’t about politics. It’s about meeting a basic legal standard.

Earlier this year, the @NYS_AM forced a vote on A.1064 by @JosephAngelino to provide up to $2,500 tax credit for volunteer firefighters. Democrats immediately voted it down. Ultimately, they were shamed into an $800 tax credit, which is merely a good start. But we could have done more for brave volunteers and begin to address growing staffing shortages in firehouses statewide. news10.com/news/ny-volunteer…

I'll be participating in a tour of Attica next week to see the current situation for myself, along with other members of our conference. – at Ballston Lake, NY
A problem ignored is not a problem solved. Someone should tell the governor. State prisons are still experiencing a staffing and safety crisis despite NY's own HALT Committee approving 10 recommendations agreed upon by state agencies and public employee unions. They were submitted to the governor and Legislature in September 2025. When nothing happened, the @NYS_AM introduced the package as legislation (A.10430). Again, Democrats refuse to act. The situation isn’t improving, and it’s cost millions of dollars with each passing month. Safety is a priority. Not something to be ignored.

This past week Consul General Angley travelled up to the legendary @Saratoga1863 Race Course for a day of Irish-themed events and races, in partnership with @HRIRacing, @NYBREDS1 and @TheNYRA. Honoured to present to the winner of the Irish-themed race on the day. Also met the legendary racehorse Sovereignty, who took the 2025 Kentucky Derby! A great day concluded at the National Museum of Racing, where guests included NY Senator @JimTedisco and assemblywoman @MBWalsh112. NY–Ireland racing links set to grow in the years to come! ☘️🐎🗽

In 2024, only 9% of 16- and 17-year-olds arrested for a felony received a felony conviction statewide. It defies logic to create a consequences-free environment. Assembly Republicans have introduced several reforms to “Raise the Age” law to reverse the lack of accountability for those who commit serious felonies. democratandchronicle.com/sto…

Per the Division of Budget, the final state budget is now at $277 billion, not the $268 billion initially announced at the "general agreement" presser. The DOB says the extra money is due to accessing frozen Medicaid dollars by reverting back to the basic health plan

NEW: @MicahLasher is refusing to answer questions about where he was at 4:50p.m. on Thursday, May 2.🧵 If he was following state Assembly rules, he was in Albany at that time, present for a vote on a bill he says *he* authored parts of. But at 7 p.m. on the same day, he was at a candidate forum on the Upper West Side, and it takes more than 2 hours to travel from Albany to NYC, especially during rush hour. (1/5)

No budget and no common sense in Albany. Partisan dysfunction reigned supreme as Assembly Democrats rejected 23 Republican proposals that would have strengthened penalties against child predators and cop-killers, provided transparency on monthly utility bills and boosted property tax exemptions for seniors. With so many New Yorkers questioning the direction of the state, these decisions to block proposals that would help millions of people make even less sense.

Assembly Dems recently rejected a Republican bill to help volunteer firefighters.   After 2 weeks of bad press, phony excuses & public pressure, they passed the same (less generous) bill.   Great job by @NYS_AM & great news for brave first responders. buffalonews.com/news/local/g…

Reenactors from the 250th Day in the Well yesterday, hosted by myself and @AMCarrieWoerner . What would our founders have thought about a quarter trillion NYS budget?
Adding perfectly to the atmosphere in Albany today: Spotted two guys dressed like Horatio Gates and John Burgoyne

Yesterday, Bishop Mark O’Connell of the Albany Diocese was invited to offer the opening prayer for the New York State Assembly. He is pictured here with John McDonald (D-Cohoes) and Mary Beth Walsh (R-Ballston Spa), who co-sponsored his invitation. @johnmcdonald108 @MBWalsh112

Assembly Democrats could’ve done the right thing today, but they blew it. The @NYS_AM offered significant help to brave volunteer firefighters & EMS. A needed boost for New York's first responders. Summarily rejected by Democrats.

Last week wasn't the first time Democrats have weaponized the PCFB to serve themselves. In 2024 they changed the rules to allow a $2 million transfer to Senate Dems' Committee. Denying Bruce Blakeman matching funds is just the latest scheme from a party that uses a public program as a tool to advance their political interests.

Denying @NassauExec matching funds is political gamesmanship of the worst type. It’s a partisan manipulation of the system by a NYS Democrat Party that can’t tolerate that other viewpoints exist. I wish I was surprised. But it’s Albany- your expectations can’t ever be too low
