Human embryonic stem cells are the gold standard for human pluripotency - pausing hESC research doesn't just slow discovery. It undermines the foundation that makes all of it credible. The ISSCR is right to push back.
The ISSCR has responded to an National Institutes of Health RFI on pausing new hESC Registry submissions. Human embryonic stem cells remain the gold standard for pluripotency - powering advances in development, disease modeling, and regenerative medicine.
