Instead of focusing on things that could actually unite Albertans—like improving health care, education, and affordability—Danielle Smith has decided to double down on division and anger.
Thumping defeats in her separation referendum and in Calgary-Shaw should have been a wake-up call for the UCP, but instead, they are choosing to reignite culture wars on things like flags and DEI.
Albertans are smart. We can all see that the UCP is trying to distract from their failed record, and we're all fed up with it.

Albertans have lost confidence in Danielle Smith and the UCP.
Albertans overwhelmingly rejected separatism, and voted down the UCP's proposed constitutional changes.
Yet Danielle Smith continues to waste taxpayers' money fighting First Nations in court while refusing to accept the message Albertans have sent her.
Albertans deserve a government focused on fixing health care, improving education, and lowering the cost of living. But the premier is spending her time and our money fighting political battles instead of fighting for the real priorities of Alberta families.

Bob Fife on Danielle Smith telling separatists in the UCP to find another home: "Why didn't she say that at the beginning? This is somebody who has fed them, nurtured them and accommodated them, and now they're coming for her."

That's Danielle Smith - utterly incapable of taking responsibility for her own actions. #ableg

Together we saved Canada! But there is another threat brewing, and again it's coming from within the UCP.
Danielle Smith wants to gerrymander our riding maps because she's terrified she will lose. She wants politicians to pick their voters. No way, premier. In Alberta, voters pick their politicians.

A special thank you to the First Nation, Métis and Inuit people who showed up in record numbers to help save Canada!
We are all so deeply grateful for Indigenous communities and the extraordinary contributions they bring to our province and country.

Over the past several months, more than 15,000 Alberta NDP volunteers have engaged with Albertans, and the response could not have been clearer: people are ready for change. Albertans deserve a government that puts them first, and the Alberta NDP is ready to deliver.
Together we saved Canada, now it's time to save Alberta!

The cost of everything from groceries and gas to housing and childcare is going up because of choices made by Donald Trump's administration.
Those choices have consequences. So do elections.
The midterms are our chance to elect leaders who will fight for the people.
Over the next week, I will hit the trail in Nevada, Mississippi, New Hampshire, Wisconsin, and Georgia to campaign for some of those incredible leaders.
I'll see you out there.

Last night, we heard a clear message from Albertans in every corner of this province: they are proud Canadians. Period.
I am proud of everyone who stood up for Canada, including all the volunteers with groups like Forever Canadian and Alberta’s Voice. But in particular, I want to thank the Indigenous people of Alberta. No one has been more hurt by the mistakes of this country, and no one has been a stronger champion of Canada. First Nations Chiefs and Councils, along with countless volunteers, have spoken up for Canada. They took the government to court, and they voted in numbers we’ve never seen before. I am deeply grateful.
I am also proud of our team: over 15,000 volunteers, many of whom were brand new to politics, knocked on over 500,000 doors. We spoke with over one million people. And we learned a lot. Yes Albertans are frustrated: they are frustrated with the cost of living, with the lack of good jobs, with the mess that the UCP has made of public health care and public education. They are frustrated with spending nearly $200 million of taxpayer money on this pointless referendum exercise. In short, they are deeply frustrated with Danielle Smith.
Premier Smith will claim victory today. She will claim she saved Canada. She will claim that she has a strong mandate to pick fights with Ottawa and newcomers now. None of this is true. Albertans know we are only in this situation because of Danielle Smith. She changed the laws three times to help the separatists, and when that didn’t work, she gave them a referendum anyway. She spent $4 million of taxpayer money -- more than ten times what anyone else did -- trying to convince voters to vote for horribly torqued questions and barely eked out a win on any question. She is now seen as the least-popular and least-trusted provincial politician in Alberta. Separatism will always be her legacy.
Meanwhile, Alberta’s New Democrats will continue the fight for a better Alberta. We will remind Albertans that they deserve better, and better is only possible with a better government.
Last night, Albertans saved Canada. Today, we begin the fight to save Alberta.

We all have different stories about how we came to Canada and what it means to call this country home.
Our diversity, our backgrounds, and our experiences are what make Alberta and Canada so special. These stories should bring us together, not tear us apart.
My story is just one of millions that make up this incredible country. There is so much more that unites us than divides us.
In this referendum we will all make our voices heard. 🇨🇦
Vote YES to Canada and NO to the rest!

Alberta only got here because of one person and one party: Danielle Smith and the UCP. Let’s send them a very strong message at the ballot boxes. 🇨🇦
