Why would @GovWhitmer not opt into this program?
Will Gov. Whitmer opt Michigan into the federal Education Freedom Tax Credit before Jan 1? If she doesn’t, Michigan families would miss out on scholarship opportunities, and the money would go to other states who have opted in, like Ohio and Indiana. The program could help families cover educational expenses, such as tutoring, school supplies, transportation, uniforms, home wifi, and more. Create jobs, boost the economy, and play a critical role in defense — that's what this fighter mission from President Trump will do for Michigan. In March, we passed an important funding package led by Rep. Ron Robinson to welcome the new fighter mission to Selfridge Air National Guard base. We worked hard to get it through the Senate and to the governor's desk, and yesterday, lawmakers and state officials broke ground on the new runways that will allow for the F-15EX Eagle II jets coming to the base.
The Selfridge fighter mission has officially begun. House Republicans met with state officials to break ground this morning on the new runway site that will allow for the F-15EX Eagle II fighter jets and KC-46 Pegasus tankers. House Republicans worked hard to get this done. Even when Senate Democrats dragged their feet, we pushed forward with President Trump to ensure this mission came to Michigan. We're proud to invest in our economy and National Guard and do our part to keep our country safe.

🚨BREAKING: HOUSE REPUBLICANS BREAK GROUND FOR NEW SELFRIDGE FIGHTER MISSION House Republicans met in Macomb County today to break ground for runway upgrades for the HISTORIC fighter jet mission coming to Selfridge Air National Guard base. This mission will improve Selfridge's capabilities, boost Michigan's economy and defense industry, and further solidify our state's place in national security.

guys, you cannot cry about people contacting you and trackers coming to campaign events if you want to run for office.
Democratic candidate Katrina Manetta is running for Michigan's 58th House District. She tells FOX 2 that ads, whether online or via text, show her name, face and personal phone number, which she never authorized. fox2detroit.com/news/michiga…

🚨Today on "Problems Democrats Could Fix Right Now": AI SURVEILLANCE PRICING We passed a bill BANNING AI surveillance pricing 4 MONTHS AGO — but Senate Democrats won't even put it up for a vote. Corporations are using your browsing history, location, and personal data to see what you're willing to pay so they can charge you more. Apparently, Senate Dems are just fine with that.
🚨Today on "Problems Democrats Could Fix Right Now": PROTECTING PRIVATE PROPERTY We passed a ban on bureaucrats like EGLE and DNR officials entering your private property without a warrant, but Senate Democrats won't take it up. Your land is your land — unfortunately, Democrats don't agree.

WATCH: "With those signatures, ACV would be on the ballot." Proof of citizenship to register to vote has MASSIVE national support. Our select committee was formed to open up the process and hear from experts. Well, the experts testified that it would be ON THE BALLOT this November if the signed affidavits had been accepted. The Board deadlocked on the Americans for Citizen Voting petition 2-2 (party lines), resulting in the petition being denied after getting over 200k more signatures than necessary, turning in signatures months in advance, having a third-party audit of its procedures, and getting signed affidavits from signatures the Board claimed were in question.
Michigan allows people without an ID at the polls to sign an affidavit and go right ahead and vote. But when petition signers turn in affidavits to ensure ONLY CITIZENS can vote, they get tossed out. What happened in Michigan to the Americans for Citizen Voting petition is what makes people lose faith in our electoral process. When a ballot measure can hire handwriting experts to review signatures, have an outside audit performed on its procedures, turn signatures in months early, and collect signed affidavits verifying signatures in record time — and still be denied — people lose trust in our systems and remove themselves from the process altogether. This is why we created this Select Committee. We're getting to the bottom of this so we can fix it. @ForAcv

🚨Today on "Problems Democrats Could Fix Right Now": PROTECTING CRIME VICTIMS We passed protections for victims of sexual assault that increase the penalties for criminal sexual conduct, ensuring bad actors know what's waiting for them on the other side of a crime. Senate Democrats? Crickets... Why do they insist on soft-on-crime policies?

🚨Today on "Problems Democrats Could Fix Right Now": VOTER ID & ELECTION INTEGRITY Democrats have a failed record on election integrity. Messy voter rolls, multiple noncitizens casting ballots that counted. And when House Republicans passed Michigan's SAVE America Act to require voter ID, zero Democrats voted for it. Senate Dems refuse to give it a vote.
🚨Today on "Things Democrats Could Fix Right Now": GOVERNMENT CORRUPTION We recently passed HB 6282 to protect ratepayers by banning politicians from handing out big grants to companies that jack up our monthly utility bills and then accepting jobs from those companies. But Senate Democrats refuse to put it up for a vote. Unfortunately, this doesn't come as a surprise. This term, Democrats have fought against budget transparency, cutting ghost employees, draining millions from department slush funds, accountability for public officials, and banning lawmakers from becoming lobbyists. We passed all of those strong reforms over their objections, because we are bringing the HEAT to Lansing.

Politicians shouldn't be able to leave office and go straight to a paycheck from groups funded by your utility bills. So, we passed HB 6282 to stop it. What are Senate Democrats waiting for?
Our monthly bills are through the roof as it is — we don't need another conflict of interest getting in the way of lower costs. Weeks ago, we passed HB 6282 to ban lawmakers from taking jobs with groups that get cash grants from utility boards and driving up our rates — grants paid for by MICHIGAN FAMILIES through monthly utility bills. Sounds like a great idea, right Senate Dems?

🚨Today on "Problems Democrats Could Fix Right Now": Senate Democrats could vote to make homes more affordable right now — because we already did the work for them. Our plan saves families $900/year by: ✅Eliminating the state property tax ✅Eliminating the pop-up tax that makes it harder to buy/sell a home ✅Eliminating other hidden costs of buying and selling a home ✅Helping everyone from young families starting out to seniors on fixed income

lol spare me the fake outage to posting facts. @AbdulElSayed distanced himself from you for a reason. I’m not the only one who thinks you’re actually crazy.
it’s so funny these idiots try to act like socialists aren’t regular upstanding members of society trying to improve the awful system we’re subjected to. they think we are like the nazis on the far right and get mad when normal people don’t feel that way.

Today on "Problems Democrats Could Fix Right Now": Democrats could lower energy costs RIGHT NOW, but they won't do it. How do we know? Because we passed the HELP UP plan over 5 MONTHS AGO, and it's sitting in the Senate untouched: ✅Lowers electric costs by one billion dollars ✅Erases last 3 years of rate hikes ✅Freezes rates for at least 2 years ✅Gets political activism funding OUT of our monthly utility bills We already gave them the solution. They just don't want to do it.

This is why Abdul should be asked questions about the Muslim Brotherhood. An organization so extreme they are banned in 5 Muslim countries. He lies, dodges and lashes out at press who asks him these questions because he does not want Michiganders to know how he truly believes! His ideology is too extreme for Michigan and our country.
NEW FROM ME 🚨🚨🚨 At least six of Abdul El-Sayed's co-signers on a 2012 letter backing the Muslim Brotherhood have donated more than $25,000 to his political campaigns Another signer called Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi, who ousted the Brotherhood's Mohamed Morsi, a "dog of the Jews" freebeacon.com/democrats/el-…

When Democrats left Medicaid $500 million short, we fixed it and made government services more SECURE for the people who need them: ✅No more illegal aliens taking your tax dollars ✅Eligibility checks ✅Cross-checking with federal databases ✅ID chips in Bridge cards ✅Audits of government services to avoid Minnesota-style fraud
Michigan House Speaker Matt Hall and @MI_Republicans are fighting fraud. Democrats grab your wallet with both hands and call it “help!”

“Affordability” from Abdul means new taxes, new mandates, and a bigger federal bill. Working people in Macomb and the U.P. are not asking for that.

Michigan spends more per pupil and still ranks near the bottom on income and attainment. Abdul’s answer: more of the same spending, same results.

🔴House Republicans have put your priorities FIRST this term — fixing the roads, government accountability, rooting out waste, fraud, & abuse. 🔵But Senate Democrats insist on holding up other common-sense bills that we passed: 🚫Banning AI surveillance pricing that gouges consumers by watching what they buy 🏡Eliminating the state property tax and saving families $900 a year 🩺Helping Michigan families afford their healthcare and coverage through better price transparency and ending predatory debt collections. 📉Lowering monthly utility bills by refocusing on affordable & reliable energy, freezing rates for at least 2 years, erasing the last 3 years of rate hikes, and getting political activism funding OUT of our utility bills
The Michigan House was the ONLY state chamber in the nation to flip from 🟦Democrat to 🟥Republican in 2024. We gave Democrats the opportunity to vote with the people countless times — and they threw it back in your face: 🗳️Michigan’s SAVE America Act (proof of citizenship to register, voter ID to vote, 80% nationwide support) / ZERO DEMOCRAT VOTES ❌Condemning socialism / All but ONE voted no ✂️Eliminating waste, fraud, & abuse / All but ONE voted no ⚖️Stronger penalties for sexual assault / MOST House Democrats voted no 🏃‍♀️Banning men from girls' sports / ZERO DEMOCRAT VOTES 🇺🇸Prominently displaying American flags in classrooms / MOST House Democrats voted no 🛑Stopping DNR/EGLE from entering private land without a warrant] / MOST House Democrats voted no 🍃Repealing the 100% green energy mandate that keeps driving up utility bills / All but ONE voted no 💡The HELP UP plan to eliminate the state property tax, lower and freeze monthly utility bills, erase three years of rate hikes, and save families $1,400 a year / All but ONE voted no 📵Getting cell phones out of the classroom / ZERO DEMOCRAT VOTES 🏅Honorable mention: Dems accidentally brought a bill to the floor banning DEI hiring practices in state offices. One Democrat still voted no after the rest tried to vote yes to cover the mistake. Some bills the Dems fought the whole way, then lost. Cell phones out of the classroom is now law. So are the House Republican H.E.A.T. accountability and transparency reforms: 🚫Banning lawmakers from becoming lobbyists 🗓️45-day spending-item disclosure 🗣️An expressed purpose on spending items 🖊️The lawmaker’s and the recipient’s name on spending items

Michigan ranks 44th in the nation in reading. Our schools are going in the wrong direction. So, we finally got Lansing politicians to act: 📵Got cell phones out of the classroom 💰Record per-student funding 📖$222.5 million for literacy supports and teacher training in the science of reading 🍎Healthy free meals for all students through the Hall Universal Breakfast & lunch in Schools program ✏️Dual enrollment expansions 🧑‍🏫Tutors chosen by parents ✅Funding to keep our best local teachers LOCAL
Michigan's 3rd-grade reading scores are 44th in the nation, similar to where Mississippi's scores were in 2013 (49th).  Today, Mississippi is 9th overall after making common-sense changes. It's time for Michigan to do the same: 1. Training teachers in phonics We led the way and got phonics training for teachers secured in the new state budget. 2. Literacy investments We pushed hard this year for early childhood literacy funding and secured millions for coaches, curricula, & more. 3. Better direction for schools and resources for teachers We focused the Department of Education on lesson plans that have proven results. 4. Read-by-third-grade guardrails Michigan Democrats repealed the read-by-third-grade law that used to allow for extra resources and interventions for students that fell behind. We advanced plans to reinstate it this year because our kids deserve to succeed, not be set up to fail down the line. House Republicans are leading the way in Michigan to get back to basics, equip teachers to help students, & assist those who fall behind rather than passing them on unprepared.

Rough roads cost the average Michigan driver over $750/year in extra vehicle costs. That's why we finally got politicians in Lansing to put their money where their mouth is and FIX THE ROADS: 💰$2 billion a year in ongoing funding 🚧Aimed at local roads and bridges 🛣️Every penny at the pump now goes to roads
WATCH: What would Michigan look like without House Republicans? In 2024, we ENDED complete Democrat control of Michigan as the House became the ONLY STATE CHAMBER IN THE NATION to flip from 🔵Democrat to 🔴Republican. We've worked hard putting your priorities first — fixing the roads, holding officials accountable, uncovering billions in taxpayer abuse, and more — and we did it while PROTECTING MICHIGAN from far-left policies:
