Facility Leadership Calls for Investment in Essential Services Dr. Eric Ogutti, representing the facility leadership, expressed appreciation for the support received, noting that the community's perception of the quality of care is improving. He reaffirmed the facility's commitment to ensuring that existing infrastructure and resources are fully utilised to improve health outcomes. He also highlighted the need for additional support to operationalise and strengthen the facility's theatre, which would expand its capacity to provide essential health services. Access to healthcare remains a significant challenge for communities on Sigulu Island, with some residents reportedly seeking treatment in neighbouring Kenya because of difficulties accessing services locally. Strengthening the capacity of Sigulu Health Centre III would help bring essential healthcare services closer to the communities that need them.

Earlier today in Namayingo District, we engaged CHEWs and the District Health Team on strengthening community health. A key takeaway: While the newly trained CHEWs supervise Village Health Teams (VHTs), many VHTs have not received refresher training in years. Upskilling VHTs is essential to building a coordinated, effective community health system! @MJAPUg @Makerere @MinofHealthUG @rkalyes1 #PHC
