Obtain a boxing license, sue under the Ali Act to void the contract, sue to have promotional agreements declared personal service contacts, set up a promotional company. . . And a few more things just off the top of my mind—not that we’ve thought about it. . .
If you woke up tomorrow a UFC champion, what is the first thing you will do???

To all Fighters: It is true—there will always be a fighter willing to fight for cheaper. This is exactly why rank and title must be earned achievements and property rights of the fighters independent of any promotion. This is what sets fighter value. Independent rank & title.

Floyd didn’t draw -until he became champ. The important thing is he gets the opportunity without servitudes to compete for titles.
Replying to @MMAFA
Fair point, yet it also brings up another question- what does he draw? How much merch does he sell? What's his social media numbers and how active are they? There isn't unlimited funds to pay people, and just like not all fighters can be the best in the ring, not all fighters draw money as well. There's lots of money out there that should be in the fighters' hands, but not the same cut of the pie

If only some fighters were doing something about it. 👋👋👋👋👋👏👏👏👋👋👋
🚨| Farid Basharat tells @MightyMouse the UFC informed him they weren’t fans of his style following his fight with Chris Gutierrez last year. He then beat Brazilian prospect Jean Matsumoto via split decision in a fight featuring 372 combined strikes thrown over 15 minutes. Afterward, Basharat’s manager called the UFC to get their thoughts, only to be told they still found the fight boring. 🤔

Company guy representing the company. Why is this clown hired?
Let me be clear: Farid Basharat did not turn down a fight. In 2024, he fought an opponent who was 10 pounds overweight. He’s always been a company guy and accepted every opponent offered to him. The company decided not to re-sign him, for whatever reason. It’s all good. I still believe he’s one of the best fighters in the world. I believe he was on his way to fighting for a UFC title, and he can beat anybody in the top 15 on any given day. Stay tuned.

And yet you ignore all the reasons that is true Ariel —repeatedly.
So the Zuffa Boxing guys get paid a hell of a lot more, and they also get released whenever they want? We don't know the full story, but it's certainly interesting. If I were a UFC star, it would be extremely frustrating to see the Zuffa Boxing guys getting all the perks.

In principle, a promoter should be free to promote whichever fighter they want. The problem for Farid here is the UFC’s lock on highly rated fighters restricts his opportunity to progress his career. According to MMA Junkie he’s the 12th ranked BW & the top 11 are all in the UFC.
Farid Basharat accuses the UFC of cultivating a fan base that values blood and finishes over high-level fighting, warning that the approach could damage the sport’s credibility. “I think the company, the UFC, is manufacturing a fan base that doesn't appreciate good-quality fighting. Even if it's a mismatch, even if it's a low-level fight, as long as there's blood, as long as it's a first-round finish, we're happy. And in my opinion, you just can't build a sport off that because you might do well for a couple of years ratings-wise, but sooner or later it's going to delegitimize the sport, and the fans are going to be left wanting high-quality fights. When I see the best against the best, for me, that's what's entertaining. But the UFC is guaranteed 7.7 billion over the next seven years, so they're clearly great at what they're doing. So what do I know?” via: @faridbofficial

It’s almost like we are invisible. Hoping bitching to media accomplishes anything is like wishing ifs and buts were candy and nuts. Hi! 👏👏👋👋👋👋
Undefeated bantamweight Farid Basharat has responded to Dana White after the promotion decided not to renew his contract, despite his perfect 16-0 MMA record and seven UFC victories. Dana White recently suggested there was a reason behind the decision, hinting that fighters sometimes turn down fights or are difficult to work with. But Basharat strongly denied ever refusing a fight and reminded fans of what happened at UFC Abu Dhabi in 2024. 🗣️ "I definitely didn't turn nobody down. In fact, we're talking about the same guy that in Abu Dhabi when I fought in 2024, my opponent missed weight by 10 pounds and I still went ahead with the fight."

It’s true. MMA isn’t a sport is that reason.
Dana White was asked about the UFC not re-signing Farid Basharat: “If you’re 16-0 with 7 wins in the UFC and don’t get re-signed, there’s definitely a reason.” 😬

No they won’t. Until we defeat the structural monopoly (promoter controlled rank and title along with exclusive contracts), nothing will change. Mokaev is correct though -this is not a sport.
Dana used to say best vs the best But today it is all about entertainment From the business side they're right but from the sport perspective they're wrong At least they could of wait until "their best fighters" took away our unefeated record To not let go a guy who beat their number 1 contender not even in the prime Now we will see how @pflmma gonna take over day by day!

So let me guess, not one person there asked White if Strickland had to sign this new deal in order to get his title shot? You’d think that’s something you’d want to confirm.
Dana White reacts to Sean Strickland's UFC pay dispute: "When isn't Sean Strickland upset about something? Sean Strickland just signed a new contract in May. From what I hear, the number he's putting out there is not true... It is what it is."

ٱلْحَمْدُ لِلَّٰهِ رَبِّ ٱلْعَالَمِينَ The news is confirmed, I am no longer with the UFC. I’ve had an incredibly successful time in the organisation. I’m proud and happy with what I’ve accomplished inside the Octagon. I leave with a stainless record. Holding the longest active win streak in my weight division and the fourth longest in the entire UFC. I feel I’m the best bantamweight in the world. I always turned up and fought regardless of injuries and weight deficits. And I always asked for the toughest opponent to get me closer to the title. But my departure clearly has nothing to do with my fighting capabilities. Unfortunately the organisation just isn’t what it used to be. They’re heading in a different direction from what we all grew up loving. I want to clarify that since my last fight I was never offered a contract or an opponent, I waited but it never came. I’ve certainly never declined a fight during my whole tenure. I want to thank the UFC staff with whom I’ve developed a great relationship these past few years. And most importantly thank you to the fans for all your support ❤️ I’m still young, the best is yet to come inshaAllah. 🌹

No -that’s not fine. That’s blatantly illegal in most jurisdictions.
Demetrious Johnson doubles down on why he believes the UFC is not a sport, pointing to the promotion's inconsistent treatment of fighters: "When I hear Dana say, 'We want to keep the best athletes on the planet,' then there's another side to it. 'They're not exciting'... You get to f*cking make the matches. They get to pick and choose what they want to do, which goes back to that one thing I said. It's not a sport, it's entertainment. Which is fine. Just say it's entertainment."

MVP needs to review the history of the many champions that reached the pinnacle of the sport, some well before his first bout. This comment is just ignorant.
MVP believes the UFC needs to address fighters' frustrations over pay, saying it would be embarrassing to have champions publicly complaining: "It seems to be a common conversation with regards to the UFC. If I was the higher-ups in the UFC, I'd want to lay that to bed. For me, it'd just be embarrassing that my champions are complaining. I would personally want to rectify that."

It’s not a sport at all MVP when the promoter controls rank and title. This is a known recipe for fighter exploitation.
"Specifically in the UFC, but MMA in general is probably the only sport where you could win and move backwards and lose and progress forward. There's no other sport that would happen in. It's unfortunate. I think we need to get back to finding out who the most skillful person is. It's not just about the entertainment." MVP believes the UFC has shifted too far toward entertainment over merit.

Well well well. . . Literally not a sport.
Sean Strickland says the UFC forced him to sign the 6-fight deal to get the title fight against Khamzat Chimaev 😬 "Sign this or we don't do this... They act like you have any power in this sport."

Keep in mind, the ONLY reason that fighters in the UFC evee want to go box is money. Not respect Not the challenge Not love of boxing Just $$$$ PS. It isn't even so much that the UFC doesn't "pay" fighters enough, moreso the UFC stops your ability to draw the money that you could if you were able to capitalize on on your drawing power. The bottom to middle level guys are paid well enough, some more than they're worth. The starts though, are completely shafted.
Sean Strickland releases video on his desire to box and says if the UFC doesn’t let him he will “stick and move” in his last fight under contract while the “crowd boo’s” “I’ll boo with you”

To be fair it’s usually a raise and/or a title shot being offered. The only condition -your long term extension! This is Don King’s options practice on steroids-corruption and exploitation baked right into the model. That’s why the Ali Act prohibits coercive contracts.
Signing 8 fight deals in your late 30's, mma fighters some of the dumbest people you know...
