DiCE's chair, Lieve Wierinck, shared her perspective on malnutrition, its impact on cancer patients and what can be done to address the issue at last week's event, "From Awareness to Action: Addressing Disease-Related Malnutrition", organised by Medical Nutrition International Industry (MNI) and hosted by MEP Andriukaitis in the European Parliament.
Malnutrition makes cancer more challenging to treat. In fact, up to ๐๐% ๐จ๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ ๐ฉ๐๐ญ๐ข๐๐ง๐ญ๐ฌ ๐๐ข๐ ๐๐ซ๐จ๐ฆ ๐ฆ๐๐ฅ๐ง๐ฎ๐ญ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง ๐ซ๐๐ญ๐ก๐๐ซ ๐ญ๐ก๐๐ง ๐ญ๐ก๐ ๐๐๐ง๐๐๐ซ ๐ข๐ญ๐ฌ๐๐ฅ๐. So, letโs keep working together to make nutrition an essential part of cancer care.
