Zone your paddocks for VRT, NDVI maps has been the hot topic the past couple of days at Cambrai & Pinnaroo. Attendees got their heads around the PA tech space to take practical steps on their farms. Sean & Peter provided tremendous amounts of info to take home to start zoning🌱🚜
Another stop on the crop walk is the @SADroughtHub canola management trial managed by @rporter_ag & @AgXtra. Looking at new varieties, sowing rates and time of sowing best fit for the Murray Plains, including input from @startwithseed & @wilb171, @pioneerseedsau 🌱 – at Palmer, South Australia
Next on the visit list is the ongoing @SAGrainTrust trial looking at pasture seeds in the low rainfall zone, their economics and hard seededness with @rporter_ag from @AgXtra 🌱
This is year 2 of the trial with wheat sown to see nitrogen fixation and longevity of seed! – at Palmer, South Australia
And the group continues to brave the weather with stop 3 being the Palmer @NVT_Online site walkthrough with @BrendanKupke, a constant favourite. Looking at new cereals coming onto the market with special guests from @agtbreeding, @InterGrain1 & @BreedersPlant 🌱🌱 – at Apamurra, South Australia
Time of sowing trial part two is our second stop with @BrendanKupke funded by @SAGrainTrust 🌱
Night and day in terms of the crop given there’s been 60mm of rainfall since the visit in August. Modelling shows shorter flowering windows mean a potential change in sowing time? – at Punthari, South Australia
First stop for today is a trial on in paddock variability by @AgSolutionsOz funded by @SADroughtHub & supported by @MsfMallee. The importance of PBI in grid testing is not to be underestimated to ensure useful soil testing results in hungry soil types! 🌱 – at Sanderston, South Australia
Today’s the day!
The spring crop walk kicks off at 9.30 and it is shaping up to be a fantastic day to see the variety of trials through the Murray Plains 🌱
The chefs at Ronco Motors have lunch sorted, so check out the itinerary & join us in the paddock

Looking at time of sowing trials with @MPFarmersInc at Punthari. Despite just 100mm GSR & 14 frosts so far, some interesting plots. Good roll up of local farmers. @FBNFarmersAUS – at South Australia, Australia
Challenges of a time of sowing plot when it’s the only green pick around? Keeping the roos away! 🌱
