Although it is heartbreaking that the journey has come to an end. It has been my personal honour to lead & support my teams.
Their legacy arresting armed violent criminals & preventing murders lives on, often putting themselves in harms way.
We owe them a debt of thanks.

“Good officers are having their careers suspended and legal processes hanging over their heads for up to ten years for just doing their jobs the way they have been trained.

Officers arrested 115 activists which is the most we have made during their autumn campaign.
The ongoing disruption means we continue to remove officers from their communities.

The Government has announced the details of its review into how the use of force by police officers and police driving is investigated.
The Commissioner has welcomed the broad scope of the review.

ALT The breadth of this review captures the reality officers face when pursuing and catching criminals. They welcome accountability that is swift, fair, competent, and recognises the split second operational decisions they have to make based on the training they have received. Regrettably, the current system often fails all those tests. A system that discourages our brave officers from chasing down criminals lets down victims. We must address imbalances in this area of law which is long overdue for reform and build a system which lets the police, police.

Yesterday in #DAGENHAM, East Area Violence Suppression Unit, #EAVSU, detained a 17 year old male after he tried to make off from them. Was it because he was wanted in connection with two robberies or because he had this firearm in his waistband???? 470EA @LocalCrimeBeats
In the last week my teams have found four firearms, loaded & ready to fire.
All through stop and search.
The owners were violent criminals.
This is not luck.
It's about being in the right place, at the right time and doing the right thing.
