Excited to share Genie 4 today our most realistic and interactive world model:
- steer dynamic environments in real time, shaping events, camera angles, and actions
- generate native audio matched to the world, from realistic background sounds to characters who can converse in real time!
- simulate photorealistic scenes and real-world physics
- create more coherent multi-step events through reasoning from Gemini
We've started to roll out as a research preview to trusted testers. Coming soon to Google AI Ultra subscribers in Project Genie and early access partners via the Gemini API and AI Studio.

France: Violence and rioting, tied to ongoing protests, have recently occurred in France and may continue. The French government has indicated they will take steps to curb "illegitimate" protests, while those organized by groups such as trade unions would be allowed to proceed. Given the heightened concerns, avoid demonstrations and areas of unrest. Stay away from areas with large crowds or significant police activity. Numerous groups submitted plans for protests on Saturday, October 24. Americans in Paris for the NFL game on Sunday, October 25 should also exercise caution and be aware of their surroundings. While permits may be filed for demonstration routes, last-minute changes can happen and protests can occur outside planned routes. Recent demonstrations were violent and involved heavy property destruction, uncontrolled looting, and attacks on police. Police responded with crowd control methods including tear gas.
In Orléans, media report significant marches and protests planned for Saturday, October 24, and Sunday, October 25.
Curfews in parts of France, including some neighborhoods in Paris and the vicinity, might continue. Curfew decisions are made locally, can be implemented with short notice, and restrict gatherings and free movement to some public landmarks.

Hi, I'm Felix. I'm an eng lead working on Claude. I love watching people take flight and do things they never thought possible.
We often describe that as "being more ambitious" when using AI, which is tricky advice to follow. I wrote a tutorial:

French politicians talk a lot about yields, the French central bank and the ECB, but none are brave enough to state the obvious. Without drastically addressing the absurd, debt-financed French pensions, France will not be able to avoid a debt crisis.
The French retire years sooner than other Europeans, and France is the only country where pensions exceed the income of the working-age population. It is absurd and unsustainable, yet nobody discusses the necessary deep adjustments. Cosmetic changes won’t be enough. Even the allegedly "right" RN seriously demands a lower retirement age at 60 and 62.
It is simple, either France fixes its funny pensions system, or it goes bust and takes the entire eurozone with it.

Got @Muse running on the PSP that's been sitting in our house for over 15 years @alexandr_wang
Had my agent port the gadget client to C so it runs natively on the PSP. Hold R, talk into the built-in mic. Muse answers, and OpenAI gives it a voice
it's easy to fall into the trap of micromanaging your agents instead of correcting the environment that shapes its behavior.
pstack 0.15.9 now ships a new /correct skill: if you keep correcting agents for the same mistakes, it finds the pattern and fixes it with architecture, types, and checks.
i like to imagine that commits rapidly flowing into the codebase are like a bonsai tree rapidly growing in whatever direction it pleases. what you want to do is not to give in to the chaos, but tame it intentionally with the right constraints
0.15.9 also has improvements to:
• /architect: now includes instructions on designing agent friendly architecture
• a new /benchmark-checklist skill based on @brendangregg's benchmarking checklist
here's a prompt you can give to grok bot to start architecting a better codebase with pstack:
/poteto-mode create a new Project agent to refactor and rearchitect my repo so that our architecture is more agent friendly. it should use both the /correct and /architect skill to look through past commits and find the most common pitfalls that agents fall into, whether its with code quality, performance, or bugs. if relevant you can also use the /recall skill to find past conversations for context. it should make a high level plan for me to review. it should also answer its own open questions by prototyping rather than defer to me. come back to me with a plan backed by real data. once i approve the plan, use either the stack or full autopilot playbook (ask me which i want) to execute
every time you intervene and correct your agent, you should think about how to eliminate it entirely.
in order of value:
1. categorically eliminate the problem through better architecture or choice of data structures
2. turn it into a lint rule or test so CI catches it
3. turn it into a skill or rule
4. have humans review the code to catch it (ngmi)

Had an "interview" for a blockchain project last week.
Camera was on, we're chatting, and the guy tells me to clone a GitHub repo and run it locally before we go further into the technical round.
I said sure, but first can you do me a favor
hold up 3 fingers in front of your face for me real quick.
He froze.
Didn't move.
Just sat there for a few seconds before the call cut off and he blocked me.
That's when I knew. A real interviewer doesn't glitch out over a random ask like that. A deepfake/AI overlay does.
These "run this repo" scams are getting scary common in crypto and dev hiring right now.
The setup is always the same:
- flattering DM
- real-sounding project
- rushed timeline
- a "quick step" before the call
that's really just remote access or a credential stealer in disguise.
If someone wants you to run code or install something before you've even had a real conversation, that's the whole scam.
Trust the instinct. Stay safe out there.

Instinct is in talks to raise about $1 billion at a roughly $10 billion valuation, less than a month after raising $250 million at a $2.25 billion pre-money valuation.
The 23-year-old founder Noah Shinn is building a personal AI agent that can operate software and complete tasks like answering emails, negotiating bills and booking reservations.
Instinct now has more than 100,000 users and has already run into compute capacity constraints as demand grows.
Its valuation has gone from roughly $50 million in the spring to $10 billion under discussion today.

We Must Pace the Frontier: I’ve written a new essay on why the AI industry should slow down, with a three-part plan for doing so.
Anthropic is unilaterally committing to the first of these steps. We’ll provide third-party evaluators with permanent, employee-level access to our systems, so that they can verify adherence to our safety measures, report on incidents, and assess models’ alignment during training.
