#PGCPSProud to host our 3rd annual Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day celebration at Mount Rainier Elementary on November 14, the 65th anniversary of Ruby's historic walk to school.
And thankful for our neighbors at Thomas S. Stone Elementary and their work honoring Ruby as well.
The most rewarding part of Ruby Bridges Walk to School Day: speaking to students about the lessons Ruby continues to teach us today. Our future generations are full of wisdom & kind hearts - and events like this remind us that with them as our leaders we're all going to be OK.
Safe streets success in one photo: crosswalks installed by @CityofMtRainier, a crossing guard funded by @PGCCouncilMedia and hired and trained by @PGPDNews, school leadership that supports walkability, and events like @walkrollschool to raise awareness and make it all possible.
#PGCPSProud to celebrate National Walk, Bike & Roll to School Day.
Special thanks to Mr. Brathwaite for organizing a walking group, Principal Price for joining us, and to all the families who participated.
Not even some rain could stop our Eagles from walking, biking & rolling!
Happy first day of school @MRESeagles - and we are #PGCPSExcited to welcome Principal Price to Mount Rainier Elementary. @pgcps @Area1PGCPS @educ8r1
Happy First Day 2025-2026 @pgcps!

"Every child has the RIGHT to get to and from school safely."
That has been our mission statement on school pedestrian safety for years, and we are #PGCPSProud to help elevate this important issue.

@pgcps is showing real leadership and has created a model for other LEAs and municipal partners to adopt and adapt nationwide.
"Far too often, tragedy is no accident. It’s inevitable."
To every school community: change begins with us.
After 6 years, MRES PTO will look a bit different next year.
Encouraging all PGCPS parents: Get involved in your school's PTO/PTA. Volunteer as much as you can. Take on projects.
Our kids will always be worth it - & @PGCPS is the best school system in MD.
