Very excited to be part of the #ECRS2024 🪸Looking forward to some great talks! How did we find out that ROS (H2O2) is not the cause of bleaching but the consequence of a bleaching holobiont? Check out Session 3 on Friday at 10:35 🌡️🌎🪸

..almost at the end of #SequAna core facility's "how-to-sequence&assemble-a-genome-in-a-week" course, a resounding success. Training the next gen of biology data scientists, see more of you next year :) kudos to @abdo_3a who pretty much ran the whole show! @UniKonstanz
„The key questions thus becomes, wether increasing concentration of H2O2 are the cause of bleaching or the consequence of a bleaching holobiont.“
3 weeks since my first paper came out! Still feeling very proud🎉 if you are curious to learn more about it:

Why does following your passion and doing something good for the ocean come with so many obstacles? Especially as a woman? Let‘s shape the future of science in the way we want it to be. So proud to be part of this!
Saturday the 11th of Feb is International Day of Women and Girls in Science. Days like this help promote the full and equal access and participation of females in #STEM. Representation of diversity is important across all career levels of science!
Such a fun and interesting master thesis project! Looking forward to everything that comes next :)
A really cool video from @LeibnizZMT! Marlen is now doing her PhD @UniKonstanz in a SPP2299 project working on using past and recent climatic conditions to identify thermally tolerant coral species. Very cool, and important, work!

ALT "I drew this octopus in Spring 2020 just when the global pandemic started. Before I started studying marine ecosystem in autumn 2019 I was lucky to see a small but exceptional beautiful octopus during a night dive at a reef site around Utila, Honduras. I have been missing the ocean for too long." - Marlen Schlotheuber
