Rob was the first “rival” reporter I met during my first fall at the Journal. And he was as kind, thoughtful and helpful than as he was when we became coworkers under Shaw a couple years ago. Hearing this news has been devastating. RIP @roboesterle shawlocal.com/kendall-county…

Another car pulled into our parking lot right after I did yesterday. He asked me where I’m from in Illinois and after I told him Bourbonnais, he says “me too.” Small world! Shoutout to my new pal Rob

Good luck to all of our football teams as the season starts tonight. It’s also the first day of football card season for me today with the release of 2026 Topps Flagship.

Now that my Journal tenure is over, I’m excited to say I’ll have a bit of a different job in sports in Michigan, where I’ve accepted a job in sports cards. Gonna officially start my card tweets by humbly bragging about a couple shed finds of mine while packing last week.
