Fellow Baptist, check this out. How cool is this!
We know about so many heroes of the faith, but we have forgotten many too. Let me tell you about some of them. One of the frustrations of studying Baptist history is discovering books that have been out of print for decades, sometimes more than a century. Many are available as old scanned PDFs, but they can be difficult to read, poorly formatted, and nearly impossible to use on a Kindle or other device. So I've started bringing some of these books back to life. I've taken original public domain Baptist books, cleaned up the text, corrected scanning errors, and reformatted them into readable modern editions. My goal is to make important works of Baptist history, missions, biography, and theology more accessible to today's readers. The collection includes books about early Baptist missionaries such as Lott Cary, Henrietta Shuck, and Luther Rice; Baptist history in Louisiana and the American South; and classic works by Charles Spurgeon, John Bunyan, and others. I've called the project "The Baptist Book Shelf." There are currently 20 books in the collection, with more on the way. Two are available as free PDF downloads, and the others are available at a modest price. Several are also available in Kindle and paperback editions on Amazon. I can only add two books a week on Amazon, but have almost 30 ready to go live as soon as I can. No matter what format you need, you can find it. This has been a labor of love. I enjoy Baptist history, and I believe these books deserve to be read rather than forgotten. I'd invite you to take a look, download one of the free books, and browse the collection. And if you know someone who enjoys Baptist history, I'd appreciate you sharing it with them. buff.ly/4CKWOjj

Perfect example of why I don’t watch the @NFL. They might as well start playing flag football.
Hey @grok, was the unnecessary roughness call against Cam Skattebo today, the worst penalty called in an NFL game ever?

Well that certainly adds some context. No excuse for breaking the law.
I have received a statement from DHS regarding Sam Sey: “On October 21, ICE arrested Samuel Sey, an illegal alien from Ghana, at the Columbus International Airport. Sey entered the United States legally in 2022 but overstayed his length of admission by over four years, in violation of our nation’s laws. Sey has no pending applications and accepted voluntary departure. He will remain in ICE custody until removed from the United States.   “We do not pick and choose which laws to enforce or where to enforce them.   “We encourage all illegal aliens to take control of their departure with the CBP Home App. The United States is offering illegal aliens $3,000 and a free flight to self-deport now. We encourage every person here illegally to take advantage of this offer and reserve the chance to come back to the U.S. the right legal way to live the American dream. If not, you will be arrested and deported without a chance to return.” - DHS SPOX As I get more information, I will update.

This is the kind of leadership the world so desperately needs today.

That’s a good word!
Today's church seems terrified of offending the world. The early church was terrified of betraying Christ.

After 25 years in 1 pulpit, what would I tell a young preacher? A 🧵(in no particular order): 1) Ignore the numbers and connect with your people. Don’t obsess about growth. Don’t apologize for who isn’t there when your friends visit. Minister to what’s in front of you. 👇 1/11

Why Christians should vote: - Christ is Lord of the nations, including America - Loving your neighbor includes voting for his good - A vote is how we settle who rules - Voting is a civic duty

BECOME DANGEROUS. Commit to learning to be dangerous. Not irresponsible. Just dangerous to those who would harm you, your family, or others. Swift, savage, violent action wins the day. Be kind, but dangerous. Be that person every day.

Toxic empathy on full display. When there is lawlessness, rioting, looting and violence, what criminals need to hear is that justice will be severe. You cannot fix ANYTHING or have a functioning society until there is law & order. Weak men create hard times.
NOW - Macron addresses the nation, calling for order and says that the youth of France are "expressing great anguish and concern about the future... we need to pay heed to what they are saying and we must not minimise the hardships that they are facing."

I don’t decorate the outside of my house for any holiday but I would definitely put this one out front.
Who else would buy a St. Michael the Archangel inflatable like this for their front yard? I’m tired of seeing witches, and creepy decorations everywhere. If we’re going to reclaim All Hallows’ Eve, let’s do it with something bold, eye-catching, and anything but lame!

What a powerful prayer! Thank your for representing Christ so faithfully in the public square @dmichaelclary
My friend and fellow @BaptistLeaders board member @dmichaelclary prayed at the @realDonaldTrump rally today. I pray many will hear, turn to the Lord Jesus, and bear fruit in keeping repentance in response!
