ALT Why is there a recall? The products contain elevated levels of lead. There are rising numbers of cases of lead exposure nationwide as a result. Missouri now has five reported cases of lead poisoning in children due to these products. Please take precautions. The effort to remove these items from shelves continues, but product has still been found in stores. DHSS and local public health agencies are working to ensure these products are not available for sale in Missouri. If you have these items in your home, dispose of them immediately. Items like these have a long shelf life and all products should be double-checked. If you notice any symptoms related to lead exposure after consuming cinnamon applesauce, contact your doctor immediately, as well as your local health department to report the case.
