It was an honor to speak at “Rumi Night” at the Museum of the Bible, on the new Persian edition of my book, “Reopening Muslim Minds.”
Grateful to the Afghanistan Institute of Strategic Studies and the Afghan community in DC for the warm welcome:
On September 28, 2026, at Rumi Night in Washington, @AkyolMustafa of the @CatoInstitute launched the Persian translation of his book Reopening Muslim Minds: A Return to Reason, Freedom, and Tolerance, translated by AISS. The conversation was moderated by Dr. @Wahidgulrani of @Georgetown University. #WashingtonDarbar #RumiNight

Those who spend other people’s money have little reason to guard it. Rewards for fraud tips can’t fix that. Prevent improper payments and give states a financial stake in federal programs they run, writes Cato’s @RominaBoccia.

Elon Musk: "Even if I'm criticized by the whole world, I won't let go of X." The reason makes you think.
Reporter: "Why are you so attached to X?"
Elon: "What do you mean by that?"
Reporter: "Since the acquisition, it's been nothing but criticism, right?"
Elon: "That's true."
Reporter: "Politicians criticize you too."
Elon: "Yes."
Reporter: "There are conflicts with regulatory authorities."
Elon: "That's true."
Reporter: "Honestly, wouldn't it be easier to sell it?"
Elon: "Why?"
Reporter: "You have Tesla and SpaceX, don't you?"
Elon: "I do."
Reporter: "There's no need to stay in the center of controversies, right?"
Elon: "But what would that solve?"
Reporter: "...... Huh?"
Elon: "I think it's important to have a place where opinions can be exchanged freely."
Reporter: "But there are unpleasant opinions too, aren't there?"
Elon: "Of course."
Reporter: "There are wrong opinions too."
Elon: "That's true."
Reporter: "So, shouldn't there be restrictions?"
Elon: "How far to restrict?"
Reporter: "That's..."
Elon: "Who decides which opinions are correct?"
Reporter: "..."
Elon: "It's easy to protect only the opinions we agree with."
Reporter: "Yes."
Elon: "But what about when contrary opinions arise?"
Reporter: "..."
Elon: "That's where the real test of free speech happens, don't you think?"

BREAKING: Iran is now distributing iodine tablets to communities within a two to three kilometer radius of its sensitive nuclear facilities over fears of a US nuclear attack, a Health Ministry official confirms to The Times.
"Yes, we are distributing iodine. Trump can no longer be trusted. He may go through with this crime," the official said.
"Everyone knows that very little time remains. If America does not use a nuclear weapon against Pickaxe Mountain, it will be a miracle," an Iranian analyst with close ties to the IRGC said.
Senior figures across the government, the IRGC and the regular armed forces expect Pickaxe to be among the principal targets of the coming war.
Iraq activated nuclear emergency plans and border radiation monitoring yesterday.

Not all wealthy private business owners get rich off their own endeavors. On "The Economics of It" this week, economist Eric Zwick explains how licensing restrictions enrich dentists at the expense of consumers, as one example of extractive government-granted privileges.

BREAKING: Trump to order major combat operations against Iran because he "has nothing to lose politically now that the midterms are over," two senior sources tell Reuters.
"He is planning to bomb Iran. Don't listen to what he's saying. He held off because of the midterms. We asked him to hold off until the midterms," the sources say.
Trump is now "inclined to double down and go ahead with an attack."

So you are admitting that @potus/@realDonaldTrump lied about obliterating the program) last year?
Alas, his special envoy, who knows nothing of Iran, nukes, and diplomacy, misunderstood what he was told.
If you're such a low IQ moron that you opposed President Trump taking military action against the Islamist-terrorist regime in Iran when he was told (by them to his envoy) that they were 10-days away from having 11-nuclear warheads and had already enriched weapons grade uranium for more bombs, I don't ever want you to open your big mouth, show your contorted face, or write your asinine comments here or anywhere ever again! This would be the same Islamo-Nazi regime that has killed and maimed thousands of Americans over the last 47-years and has slaughtered hundreds of thousands of innocent young people and tried to assassinate our president and other top American officials. Your propaganda undermines the president, our military, and no doubt gave talking points to the Democrats during this election. Protecting our country is America first, fools. Just shut the hell up and crawl back under your rock.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
