I thought building the app would be the hard part. It wasn't 😅 33 days in, MaPa Money has 8 users and I'm still working out how to find the next 100. Here's the honest story so far, and where I'd love your help 🧵

33 days since I launched my first Android app. What I got wrong: • I thought more posts meant more reach. Almost 900 posts, 181 followers. • I explained features nobody asked about. • I pitched in replies. Barely anyone saw them. What worked: asking other builders honest questions. What did you get wrong in your first month?

What's next: WorkPay (the time you work vs the pay you earn) and Recepta (receipts organised without the cloud). Both are in Google Play closed testing. Want to try one? Reply "WorkPay" or "Recepta" and I'll send you the details.

Play link for MaPa Money: play.google.com/store/apps/d… What helps most is honest feedback: what's confusing, what's missing, what would make you stop using it? I read and answer every reply.

Building an app is one challenge. Getting people to discover it? A completely different one. We're building MaPa Infinity, a small indie app brand. Our first Android app, MaPa Money, is live. Now comes the harder part: finding users and learning what actually helps them. Any fellow indie builders here?

Quick question: Do you actually know how much you spent this month? Not just the big bills. The small UPI payments, snacks, subscriptions, and random purchases too. We're building MaPa Money, a free offline Android app to make tracking all that easier. We're still a small app, and every new user and honest bit of feedback matters. Give it a try 👇 play.google.com/store/apps/d…

What's one everyday task you wish an app could make easier? Managing money? Keeping track of purchases? Work-related paperwork? Or something completely different? We're building practical apps at MaPa Infinity, and we'd rather hear what people actually struggle with than guess what they need. Curious to hear yours 👇

Sometimes there's just not much left to cut. When rent, groceries and bills take most of a paycheck, tracking every dollar won't magically create more money. People need breathing room, not another lecture about budgeting.
I genuinely don’t understand how people are supposed to get ahead anymore. You can work full time, pay your bills, cook at home, barely go anywhere, and STILL feel like you’re living paycheck to paycheck. And before somebody says “learn how to budget,” I promise you budgeting isn’t always the problem. Groceries are ridiculous. Rent is ridiculous. Utilities are ridiculous. You can’t even run into Walmart for a few things without spending $100. And what’s crazy is most people aren’t even out here living some expensive lifestyle. They’re going to work, coming home, cooking dinner, taking care of their kids, and doing the same thing all over again the next day. Nobody is asking to be rich. We just want to be able to pay our bills, keep food in the house, do something fun with our kids every once in a while, and STILL have money left over. It shouldn’t feel like a luxury just to live comfortably.

Salary day: everything looks under control. Two weeks later: wait, where did half of it go? 😂 Rent, groceries, bills, subscriptions, random UPI payments... it all adds up. What's the one expense that surprises you most when you look back at the month?

You worked extra hours this month. Salary arrives, but how do you know those extra hours were actually included? Do you calculate your pay yourself, check your payslip, or just trust the amount credited? Curious how people handle this, especially with overtime and changing shifts.

You buy something, keep the receipt, and forget about it. Six months later, something stops working. Now the real challenge begins: finding the receipt to claim the warranty 😅 Do you actually keep receipts until the warranty expires, or just hope you won't need them?

Ever bought something, kept the receipt somewhere safe, and then couldn't find it when you actually needed it? 😅 A warranty claim, a return, or just checking what you paid months ago. Where do you usually keep your receipts? Photos, email, a drawer full of paper... or nowhere?

You lend a friend ₹5,000. They return ₹2,000 today and ₹1,500 next week. Is that income? Not really. It's your own money coming back. That's one reason I built MaPa Money to understand borrowing, lending and partial repayments, not just income and expenses. Small distinction. Big difference in financial tracking.

A ₹500 expense is easy to remember. But ₹80 here, ₹120 there, a quick UPI payment, some cash spent... By evening, can you remember where it all went? 😅 That's one everyday problem we're trying to solve with MaPa Money. Curious how everyone else keeps track of these small payments.

Salary comes into one bank account. Daily spending happens from another. UPI, cash, credit cards, transfers... At the end of the month, you know you earned money. You know you spent money. But where exactly did it all go? 😅 That question is part of why MaPa Money exists.

A ₹30,000 purchase split into 6 EMIs. Is that ₹30,000 spent today? Or ₹5,000 every month? And what happens when you look at your monthly spending? These are the kinds of questions that make building a finance app more interesting than I expected.
