🚨 New Manchester United protests planned
Three arrests on Tuesday for throwing tennis balls, and another protest arriving on Sunday.
The 1958 group have called on supporters to wear green and gold against Aston Villa and to spend nothing while at the ground, with Reclaim the Stretford End, South Stand United and Retro Reds all involved. "Bring your own balloons, scarves and shirts to get behind the team and show the owners we want to stay at Old Trafford and want to see ownership gone."
'Get behind the team, get rid of the owners'. The protest is being designed to avoid the accusation Kasper Schmeichel made this week.
The grievance list is broad. The owners, the prospect of knocking Old Trafford down, disrespect towards ticketholders, falling standards and mounting debt. The September protest was about ticket touting and genuine fans getting caught in it.
Calls to "stop protesting, it hurts the team" don't fly anymore. These are fans who've worked out they can do both, and the spending boycott is the part that actually registers with the Glazers.
Chants aimed at the Glazers now routinely include Ratcliffe too, which is quite a turnaround from February 2024.
Villa on Sunday, Carrick under pressure, and a crowd planning to protest the people above him.

If you are getting behind either of these protests tomorrow then you have my respect and support.
Please get involved, doing something is better than doing nothing in my opinion
