I owe The Ape Society community an apology. And I mean that.
I've been around long enough to remember TAS on Cardano, watched the move to Base, and now Ethereum. I've also been pretty vocal in the past about decisions I didn't agree with, especially when it came to utility.
Looking back, I think I completely missed the most important part of what makes an NFT project successful.
The people.
Utility changes. Roadmaps change. Chains change. Markets change.
But a community that genuinely shows up for each other? You can't just build that overnight or throw money at it.
I've been spending more time watching the TAS community lately, and I'm genuinely blown away.
Over 60 members followed my OpenSea account, and the amount of love and support I see on the timeline is something I honestly haven't seen much of in this space lately.
And here's the thing. I was wrong to overlook that.
I was so focused on what the project was delivering that I wasn't paying enough attention to what the COMMUNITY had already built.
I sold my original ape a long time ago, but I recently bought back into TAS. I'd love to grab a few more, but the pockets are a little thin right now. 😂
I'm sure the TAS account probably has me muted, and I wouldn't be surprised if a few community members do too. I earned that.
But I hope this reaches some of you.
I'm sorry for the FUD and for not giving this community the credit it deserves.
I also want to learn more about YOU. What have TAS holders been building? What projects, businesses, art, or communities have come out of The Ape Society?
Please share them below. I genuinely want to see them, support where I can, and get to know the people behind the apes.
As someone building in this space myself, this has been a pretty important reminder.
A team can move with the times. But it's the community that holds everything together.
Much love, TAS. You've earned my respect again, and more importantly, you've reminded me of something I should've never forgotten.
Glad to be holding an ape again. 🦍❤️

You know what, I'm mad at all of you for missing my bags! Lol

Once, the apes had no names...
Then one spoke his own: Giambuono de' Medici. And with a name came a Society.
35 families. 35 Kings. One long winter. And a final home.
The story of The Ape Society, told as it deserves to be.
This is our chronicle. 🕯️👑

New to The Ape Society? Don’t overthink it.
Received a few questions on how to navigate through the Art. TAS has 7 Classes, 35 Families & 7,000 Apes, but you don’t need a PhD in Apeology before buying one.
See an Ape you love? Buy it.
Love the Art? Buy it.
Love the Traits? Buy it.
Looks like you? Definitely buy it.
Don’t worry too much about Class or Family at the start.
Once you’re in, find your Family, join their channel in the TAS Discord, meet your relatives 🦍🤝🦍… and take it from there.
Pick the Ape first. Discover your story afterwards. 👑

This Ape is cooking!!!! I told you wait until you see the community do its thing!
I feel like I owe it to folks to explain this video snippet and the long string of quote tweets preceding it. I know this is long, so if you need a TLDR, just ask Grok.
Back on the old chain, one thing that genuinely inspired me was the OG @the_ape_society crafting system built by AF1. Craftsmen made kits, upper classes like artists refined them into higher-tier items, and the whole dynamic forced different classes to work together as an actual society. These items could be traded freely on marketplaces, and some players intentionally held raw kits to sell to others chasing the endgame (which back then was that official TAS physical card deck).
AF1 nailed the concept of using Apes as foundational building blocks for creating ecosystem assets. I wanted that exact kit and crafting loop to anchor the blueprint system we were building for @tasamphitheatre. I occasionally bugged AF1 about it (and still do), but they understandably had their hands full.
Then the chain migration hit.
The underlying blockchain infrastructure, contracts, and dApps we built for @tasamphitheatre...developed with zero heads-up that a migration was coming...basically vanished overnight. We weren't the only community project caught off guard; it hit everyone. Even so, the core @tasaphitheatre group kept grinding. We kept developing assets, multiplayer scenes, game logic to keep the vision alive, and even refactored the Armoury dApp for a multichain setup. Building on EVM actually brought perks and had vastly better resources and documentation, letting us rebuild faster than before.
Still, one glaring piece was missing: the crafting loop.
With the foundation shifted, how could we reconnect Apes directly to the creation of @tasamphitheatre gear? Throwing up a lazy pay-to-play fee with zero depth felt completely hollow. If it isn’t fun, why bother?
Over the years I’ve sunk some time into survival games, RPGs, MMOs, 4X strategy, RTS, and mobile. Each genre/platform has specific hooks and loops that immerse you and keep you playing. Looking at the Ape Society IP through that lens, the fit was obvious. I saw this fit in 2022 before I was even a holder. When you have classes spanning Nobles, Merchants, Craftsmen, Military Officers, Explorers and more set against a medieval, renaissance, and early industrial aesthetic, the gameplay possibilities are absolutely massive.
Another mechanic the community has craved since the old-chain Cabins era was raw resources. Imagine settling a plot or tile, harvesting territory-specific materials, building out a settlement, and trading surpluses with other players....either onchain, offchain, or a hybrid of both.
I originally set out to build a lightweight loop: a clean, mobile-accessible progression system and nothing more. But once I started tapping into modern dev workflows alongside what we had already built for @tasamphitheatre, i quickly realized that we could push the scope a little bit more aggressively. It became clear this had the legs to be something deeper, richer, and nostalgic, yet mechanically fresh.
As a gamer myself, the last thing I want to do is drown players in friction and endless wallet popups. The goal is real immersion, mechanical depth, and meaningful strategy. Just as importantly, I don't want anyone inundated by mandatory NFT or token requirements just to boot up or progress through the game. "Soft" holder perks, tasteful unlocks, and subtle nods and easter eggs that do the IP and community justice that also spark genuine curiosity for the average player. Ultimately, whether or not people participate in the larger onchain economy of this "system" that is being built, I don't want to deprive anyone of a fun, immersive experience...they'll just be missing out on some of the "richness" of the experience, IYKYK.
Whether you're deep in Web3 or just love deep games, the goal is to deliver this foundational crafting "system" as a genuinely rewarding and "rich" experience so we can proceed with completing what we originally set out to do, which is complete @tasamphitheatre.
What you’re seeing on the timeline right now is very much a work in progress, and visuals and mechanics will certainly evolve as more polish comes in. The name for this crafting "system" is tentatively named "Apecraft".
Gentleman, time to meet in the manor for a smoke session?

The Ice Melted
They pulled him out of the tube. Cap still cold. Cigarette still unlit.
No speech from the Director. Just a sabotage file and a look that said don’t pick up the other agency’s bomb this time.
Round 42. Win. 770 $INC. Round 43. Draw. He didn’t die. Round 44. Win. 726. Round 45. Win. 723.
Four files. Three wins. Zero skulls.
This morning they slid him Claudio Penkovsky.
Grade A. 69. Nine points over a frog sitting at 60. Safari hat. Pipe. The kind of man who doesn’t lose to a C.
Green planted it. Got out. Didn’t touch the wrong charge.
722 $INC. An A paid the tab.
When he walked back into The Daddy’s the floor didn’t go quiet. It went loud.
Agents off the desks. Mugs in the air. Somebody slapped the folder and left a print that said welcome back.
The ice melted. The hop came back.

Turn 3:3 — Frog Legs On Ice
Started the day clean. File read. Timer checked. WIN. Looked like the frog we cheered for in the beginning.
Tonight he saw a charge sitting on site and decided it had to be his to carry.
It was not.
That bomb belonged to Rabbit Hole Inc. Their plant. Already live. Timer already counting down.
Agent Green picked up the wrong package and walked out like he was the one setting it.
The file came back. It didn’t say he lost. It said KIA.
Red skull. Hop-less frog. Folder closed.
Director asked the only question that matters now.
How long do we leave these frog legs on ice before Agent Green is back in the field?
Will The Daddy’s wait? Or does Green walk again before the ice even melts?
#AgentGreen
