With a heavy heart, I tell you that my father, Donald Sutherland, has passed away. I personally think one of the most important actors in the history of film. Never daunted by a role, good, bad or ugly. He loved what he did and did what he loved, and one can never ask for more than that. A life well lived.

Big hug 🤗 Robert Redford told us about your father and Nat King Cole and what happened in Las Vegas in 1956. Your father changed history when he was enraged by the fact that day at Thunderbird Hotel when Nat King Cole was denied to enter the restaurant. You father told the maitre d' and the waitresses that if it ever happened again, he'd see that everyone was fired.
The next night, Sinatra invited Cole to dinner, making his guest the first black man to sit down and eat in the the Garden Room at the Sands. What a wonderful father you had @NancySinatra ❤️
