MCSO was contacted by Dakota HS regarding a snapchat message posted by a student. The student was not at school. The message was investigated, and it showed not to be connected to Dakota High School or it’s students. The HS was in lock down as the message was investigated.

KIDNAPPING SUSPECT: We are actively searching for Shawn Shorts, 27, who is accused of kidnapping his girlfriend’s 3-year-old child. This happened around 7 p.m. on the 9100 block of Minock. Shorts assaulted his girlfriend then took the child in a gold Ford Explorer plate: EFY9208.
