🇮🇪 Ireland's Taoiseach (PM) Micheál Martin is launching a new government body to research UNITY with Northern Ireland for the FIRST time.
It will examine 3 scenarios: full 32-county unity, NI remaining in the UK, and a united Ireland with a devolved North under Dublin.
Martin wants an evidence-based discussion, not partisan pushes that treat a border poll as easy and inevitable. He aims to include unionist voices.
Cabinet proposals are expected before Christmas.
Wouldn’t it be wild to see a united Ireland again?

Police have issued a warning to the public that Halloween can upset "religious or cultural beliefs" ahead of the celebrations this weekend.
I’m so tired of all this crap.
Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The poster is a standard "no trick or treat" notice from Thames Valley Police and Buckinghamshire Council for residents (esp. elderly/vulnerable) who do not want unexpected callers. It contains no mention of Halloween upsetting religious or cultural beliefs.

Nothing highlights the fiscal failure of this government more starkly than the plight of Poundland. The chain's 600 stores and 12,000 workers sit on the verge of collapse, not because its customers have walked away - Poundland's sales grew by 6.7% in September - but because of this government's unaffordable tax rises, which makes it impossible to run a business that works on slim profit margins to keep its prices down for its customers. How ironic that a government preaching about helping the least well-off is forcing a company out of business that does just that.
