Tweet 🧵 This one's long due and been procrastinating it for ages but seems like perfect time now because a few of us queers in Pune who started a small sports group to play cricket turned into Pune Queer Sports Club of 150+ members, now featured in @TOIPune this Pride month 🌈

There is something deeply cynical about the way some of the ultra rich put on public displays of religious devotion. Whether genuine or staged, these performances help create an image of piety while encouraging superstition among ordinary people. Think about the class divide. The rich have money, power, the best education and every opportunity life can offer. Yet they publicly display their religious devotion in front of millions who struggle to make ends meet. The message to the poor is simple: if even billionaires rely so heavily on religion, perhaps it is their only hope too. This is how religion can become a tool of social control. The rich hold on to their wealth and privilege, while the poor are encouraged to pray for miracles instead of questioning inequality or demanding a fairer society. Meanwhile, self proclaimed godmen and babas make money out of their desperation. The wealthy do not need divine intervention to protect their interests. They have money, power and privilege. It is the poor who are sold the fantasy of salvation while being denied the means to change their material conditions. A society that teaches the poor to pray rather than question inequality is doing a tremendous service to the rich. 🤔🤔

FACT CHECK ❌ The viral post claiming 🇮🇳 Sania Mirza donated vacant land for the construction of a mosque is fake. Her father, Imran Mirza, issued a clarification after the post, which carried a photo of Sania with former India cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin, circulated on social media over the last few days. "The picture of Mr. Azharuddin and Sania that has gone viral is AI generated," he said. "While Sania has every right to use any land bought by her or her family in any manner that she may deem fit, I wish to state that there is no masjid that is being built on the land where Sania Mirza Tennis Academy has been constructed." He added that any social or philanthropic work Sania does remains a private matter, and no one should publicise it, particularly when she has not verified it herself. Trust me Gen Z will tell you it is 5 o'clock. Millenials aur Gen X ko sabne chakki piswa li. None of the future generations will do it and shouldn't. A horrible work culture, poor work life balance and pathetic payscales are partially the reason why people are so unhappy and full of rage in India.

India has spent Approximately 112 Cr of tax payers money on Project Cheetah so far. Multiple times we have witnessed lack of security for these big cats. If people are allowed to kill the cub with pellet guns, where and how is the Madhya Pradesh government keeping the Cheetah’s safe?
