DARPA LifeLog was a research project by the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) in the U.S. Department of Defense launched in 2003. What Was LifeLog? •Goal: It was designed to create an all-encompassing digital archive—an "ontology-based (sub)system"—that captured a person's entire daily life experience. • •Data Collected: It aimed to record phone calls, emails, web pages visited, TV and radio selections, books read, physical locations via GPS, biometric data, and personal interactions. • •Purpose: The system sought to map relationships, memories, and habits to build a predictive computer assistant with near-perfect personal recall. • Cancellation •Date Canceled: DARPA officially terminated the LifeLog project on February 3–4, 2004. • •Reason: The project was shut down due to intense public backlash and privacy concerns
