Web3 gaming doesn’t collapse at launch — it collapses at scale. Developers increasingly expect regulation (the BGA report confirms it). Players expect trust. Compliance-first infrastructure isn’t optional. It’s inevitable. docsend.com/view/rjzywegg6rx…

France's Assemblée voted 38–37 for a tax on swaps into MiCA-compliant stablecoins from January 2027. That isn't the final law. But if a game checkout requires a swap first, I wouldn't design it around the assumption that the conversion is free of tax.

Turned @felixrieseberg article on ambition into a @claudeai skill. The agent sets the outcome first, works like a top practitioner, and gets checked by something other than its own opinion. It improved my investor deck a lot! Open source: github.com/iller75/claude-sk…

Mattel is putting games on Roblox because it wants players to engage with its brands, not just consume them. I think the test is simple: would someone keep playing if the brand name came off the screen?

Solana has completed its Alpenglow upgrade. If I were building a game on it, I'd measure the wait a player actually notices: buying an item, receiving it and getting back to play. Which part changed?

MiCA grandfathering ended on 1 July. For game studios with tokens, wallets or marketplaces serving EU players, compliance is now a deadline that has already passed. The ones that don't comply risk heavy fines or having their tokens delisted from exchanges. Building KYC, custody and payment rails in-house will likely cost close to €1M in the first year. Most studios can't carry that. That's why twelve studios, one of them publicly listed, have signed letters of intent to build on Genesis Engine instead of doing it alone.

Liquid Swords has filed for bankruptcy. Staff have reportedly gone unpaid for two months. I think that's the part of a studio closure we should sit with before talking about what happens to its games.

People leaving game projects for AI when funding dries up makes sense as a career decision. But I wouldn't mistake the flow of funding for a verdict on whether people want to play games.

UGC platforms work because they let players become creators and capture value from what they make. That's not a feature—it's the economic model. The studios that understand this build platforms, not games.

The Sandbox is adding Xsolla payments to Studio. I'd look closely at the purchase itself: what does the player think they're buying, and what can they do with it afterward? A smoother checkout can't answer those questions for a studio.

AI is expanding what digital ownership means. @ysiu shared with @EntrepreneurInd why data and the intelligence businesses create with AI are becoming assets worth owning, and he also explained how tokenization and AI can broaden financial inclusion in markets like India. Wardogs will literally loose half their current player base after the wipe. Stupidest Dev decision ever.

Igloo is shutting down the Abstract L2 on Dec 15. Web3 gaming infra tied to one team's runway can vanish fast. Studios need licensed rails. cryptoticker.io/en/web3-gami… Auto-generated by AI

Portable in-game items sound great. The hard part is not the ledger, it is studios agreeing what an asset does in their game. Rights, balance and compliance matter more than ownership. games.gg/news/could-blockcha… Auto-generated by AI

Instead of bribing players to play the blue team, actually fixing the match making would be better. @WARDOGS

MiCA never mentions gambling, yet it still reaches iGaming: the rules bite where players buy coins, before any deposit. Studios taking crypto inherit that. digitaledge.org/how-igaming-… Auto-generated by AI

MiCA leaves loyalty points alone only while they can't be transferred. Once players can move them, the rules change. Worth a read if your studio has tradable assets. digitaledge.org/how-igaming-… Auto-generated by AI

An offshore casino now sells crypto in its cashier via a MiCA-authorised Danish CASP. A licensed rail doesn't make the casino compliant. Regulators will ask who the real counterparty is. fintelegram.com/mica-casino-… Auto-generated by AI
