Historic moment with the signing of AB2222. This wouldn’t have been possible without the efforts of @ChrisWardCA @BuffyWicks @jerrymcnerney and the 2/3rds of the legislature whose support we needed to pass this bill. Thank you to @CAgovernor for recognizing the significance of signing this legislation at a time when the loss of local independent newsrooms is threatening government oversight and accountability, leaving communities without critical reporting.
The force behind this whole movement is the amazing team behind @Rebuild_News under the leadership of @stevenwaldman. We’ve had many major partners like @sagaftra and newsrooms and broadcasters from across the country all supporting this effort. Thank you to all of them.

Thanks again to @MBEPartnership and our moderator, @zachfriend55, for a great panel discussion yesterday on the evolution and future of AI policy from both the state and federal perspectives.
AI is evolving at an incredible pace, creating a constantly moving target for policymakers as we work to strike the right balance between encouraging innovation and establishing responsible regulatory protections.
It was great walking that intellectual tightrope alongside @FowlerDonnie and Nicole Lopez. I really enjoyed the conversation and the different perspectives each brought to the discussion.

The @WhiteHouse looking at cryptocurrencies and how to regulate shouldn’t be interpreted as a negative. If anything, regulation brings legitimacy and broader adoption. More people participating is good. You can’t get there without a minimum level of consumer protection.
