When this conversation comes up, I always go back to this really succinct quote from Fran Lebowitz.

Readers added context they thought people might want to know
The Mexican student Ángela Karime Hernández Venegas developed a prototype and won gold at the 2026 ISIF student science fair in Indonesia. The idea of acoustic fire suppression was previously demonstrated by George Mason University students in 2015.

This is the video I posted a couple weeks ago that saved me. Please, if you have any of these symptoms, go to the hospital. Don’t wait for appointments. Time is precious when it’s a stroke.
Love you all SO MUCH!!
Incredibly funny too because the West's perception of "submissive Filipino wife" is just so far out from the truth. Even in traditional patriarchal families, the husband is expected to surrender his entire paycheck to his wife and receive an allowance from said wife for hobbies.

My uncle noticed his monthly water and sewage bill jumped from $85 to $290 over the last six months, even though his family didn't fill a single pool or leak a gallon.
He called the municipal water board to report what he assumed was a meter error.
The clerk explained that the city sold the local water treatment facility and underground main grid to an infrastructure equity fund last year to cover municipal budget deficits.
When my uncle asked why that tripled his rate, she told him:
"The private operator added a quarterly 'grid modernization surcharge' and an 'infrastructure maintenance access fee' to every residential account."
Nothing about the pipes, pressure, or water quality improved.
Private equity isn't just buying houses and daycares anymore.
They are acquiring local utility monopolies so they can bill working families a mandatory tax on drinking water and flushing the toilet.

its true, my brother needed paediatric occupational therapy for fine motor delay when he was a kid and the therapist told my mum exactly this. dressing and undressing a barbie will develop fine motor skills in a way that pushing a toy car around doesn't

please do not ever question filipinos and their talent because you could find a kid on any random street in the philippines who could outsing, outdance, and outperform even without access to proper training or resources. we’ve never been short of talent, and this isn’t about competing with other countries or seeking their validation. it’s about recognizing the wealth of talent we’ve always had and creating more opportunities for it to thrive. filipino talent has always deserved a bigger stage, and that recognition is long overdue.

I would actually be so scared for KPop as an institution, if you allowed Filipinos to come onto your shows.
They were trained on shitty microphones that die mid-performance and sometimes no in-ears.
OPM is a trial by fire. Only true phoenixes survive.

I hope this video gets viral because this Aeta community deserves more dignity and modern equipment from the government. Assholes on social media think they're just scavengers who dont like Pax Silica. They are real Filipinos helping your mid ass cafe make u an ube latte
Global demand for ube has sent prices soaring. Still, the Aeta indigenous communities in Pampanga, who have grown the purple yam for generations, face pressure on local supply as exports rise and Manila restricts fresh shipments.
Al Jazeera’s Jamela Alindogan reports.
Why is the Philippines restricting exports of its prized purple yam?

men will believe a woman is a slut with zero evidence, but they need a documentary, 12 witnesses, DNA, surveillance footage, and God’s signature to believe a man is a rapist.
