I finally released my current side-project! It's a Nintendo Game Boy emulator written in Elm! It's nowhere near finished, but you can play a lot of games already. Check it out if you're interested: github.com/malax/elmboy

I’m very happy to announce “Times of Progress”, an isometric city-builder game set during the industrial revolution.

Hi friends! I had the privilege of enjoying a bit of funemployment. I'm starting to look for the next adventure and would be excited to have a chat about (EMEA-remote) leadership positions in the product/cloud security space. RTs would be greatly appreciated 🙏
Huge shout out to @Level1Techs for their DP 1.4 KVM! I tried several KVMs on the market but none worked with my Odyssey Neo G9. I bit the bullet and imported the @Level1Techs KVM to Germany. It wasn’t cheap, but worked right out of the box! 🤯 Thanks guys!
I hope @Lucasfilm now puts @grumpygamer and @phrenopolis in charge of Star Wars. #ReturnToMonkeyIsland demonstrates that these two guys know how to write new, meaningful, stories for legacy franchises without alienating the existing fanbase. It’s a masterpiece!

Whenever (my) code feels wrong, digging deeper into the domain leads to better code.
Because it’s not the code thats wrong but the model due to a lack of understanding.
If your (HTTP-)API docs only contain example responses and no (machine readable) schema you're doing it wrong.
When I wrote TogetherTube back in 2012, I would not have imagined that users would create an OSS version of it to keep it around after I eventually sold the project. Amazing! github.com/dyc3/opentogether…
Today marks my first year at @salesforce @heroku. Despite how crazy 2020 turned out, I couldn't be happier to work daily with such talented folks on a product that I really love. Can't wait to see what 2021 has in store!

There are two things I cannot stand in this industry: intolerance for other developers' programming languages, and Golang.

Go: Exceptions are bad!
Everyone: Yes!
Go: We're not going to have them in Go!
Everyone: Preach it!
Go: We'll use a convention that gives you everything that's bad about exceptions with nothing they do well at!
Everyone: Wait! What?

Code reviews that include code style feedback are a total waste of time. Just add an auto-styler / formatter to the code submission process. If styling can't be automated, it's not worth caring about.

If you're interested in doing some testing with Node on @heroku, let me know! I am looking for current users to help me test Yarn 2. It will be a couple weeks before we're ready, but shoot me a DM if you are interested 🧶
