Police have arrested a man after a woman was stabbed to death in Bayswater, Victoria, today. She is the 83rd woman killed this year and the 13th lost to violence in under three weeks.
There will be vigs heard across Australia tonight. Please get to one. Please be there for this woman and for all the other women and children killed this year. We need to show men we're not going to take the deaths of our sisters anymore.

The NT News does not have a mention of the woman murdered in the NT yesterday anywhere on their home page this morning. I kid you fucking not. In fact, we've seen THREE women killed in the NT in the past THREE weeks. Nothing but crickets from the main media outlet there.
Meanwhile, in Townsville yesterday police renewed a call for information related to a woman murdered in Garbutt a few weeks ago - nothing on the front of the Townsville Bulletin home page.
It's almost like they do not fucking care.

On October 11, an Indigenous woman was critically injured when a male relative assaulted her in Katherine, NT.
Police have confirmed the woman died in hospital in the past 24 hours.
She is the 82nd Australian woman lost to violence in 2024. She is the 12th woman killed in under three weeks and the 16th known Indigenous woman allegedly murdered this year.
This epidemic of violence against women is getting worse by the week - it's not slowing down. It's not reducing. It's Australia's shame and our worst social justice situation. Women are continually erased by violent men, by the media, by politicians, by many people in our community.
