The Closure of Maneki Garden Today we are sharing the news that the team decided to close Maneki Garden. We want to walk you through the full journey that happened and what are the next steps. The journey We started building in July 2023. Our first release, Rivo.xyz Beta, came in November: an Account Abstraction wallet with social logins, no seed phrases, and a DeFi Yield Marketplace with 15+ curated strategies. First month: $200K volume, 4,100 users. Through early 2024 we expanded - new chains (Avalanche, Optimism, Arbitrum), a portfolio tracker, 50+ strategies. Our points program brought 5,500 users and $2.5M in volume across epochs. But commissions were 0-0.3%. Not enough to cover costs. In spring 2025 we pivoted to AI - launching Maneki, an AI agent for DeFi portfolio management. We held a presale on Virtuals, reaching 11,000 holders and ~$4M FDV. By early 2026, Maneki Garden evolved into a full platform — unifying our yield marketplace, AI agent, vaults, and B2B services. Eight years of combined DeFi and AI experience across the team, one goal: make DeFi wealth accessible through stable, transparent returns while staying decentralized. Throughout all of this - we couldn't find revenue that made it sustainable. Why we're closing Every iteration taught us something, but none found product-market fit with real revenue. Our B2B partner shut down late last year. The new platform got interest but no conversions. DeFi in its current state doesn't support products without token incentives. We considered pivoting again, but that means new markets with no resources. The only way to sustain the token would be pumping it with marketing — exposing new people to something we don't believe in. I won't do that. The financial reality We have debt to employees who built the new platform. The only source to cover it is the team's token allocation. Selling all team tokens brings roughly $13K — covering most of what we owe. It will hit the price hard, but after watching it fall from $4M to $150K market cap alongside the rest of AI-in-DeFi, and given that the team never sold during vesting, we feel it's fair. What happens next The platform stays live for two more months. Vault management obligations for the partners will be fulfilled. Personal note I feel disappointment and regret. DeFi still remains one of the last decent things in crypto - but the hacks, low yields, and lack of real utility force us to close. I've been on this path for years, and I have nothing more I want to bring to DeFi. I'm stepping out from crypto to create value where it's more needed. This journey is my responsibility, and I'm sorry I couldn't make it work. Thank you.
